Ronseal One Coat Fence Life Tudor Black Oak, 5 Litre

With no hyperbole intended this is a fantastic product. It has the deepest darkest black like a newly painted blackboard. Best on rough sawn wood and not on a previously painted surface where it will take multiple coats applied after drying. Applied to a dry rough sawn surface the result once dry is amazing. For longer lasting finish use the plus version of this product. Completely taken by the effect and worth on a non wear surface. Note does not handle wear eg walking on it. But very effective as a dark background with timber slats added.

We recycle so picked up one from the amenities site several in fact as it’s all free and a good way to decide a colour, this wins I have multiple colors from shed to fences the moral of this post it’s an endearing colour hence the purchase so everything undercoated with free recycling stuff and final coat above is awesome, delivery prompt a thank you to supplier for taping and bubble wrapping the pot it made all the difference brown tape round seals only tiny understandable leak so a big thank you I bet it didn’t half bounce about on the way to the Isle of Man. A must buy for anyone wanting a sophisticated look. I wonder if I get a discount next time I order for such a glowing review.

I was worried the Black Oak colour might be too black so I mixed it with the Charcoal Grey (1:1) and this is the result. I used a combination of spary and brush and might have added more than 2 coats in some areas but it all looks pretty even. I really like the result, but I thought the coverage would be better. It migth have been my fault as it was my first time using a sprayer and I used the help of my daughter and her bf, both pretty young and as clueless as myself, so we probably wasted a lot at the beginning. In total I used 4 x 5L (two grey, two black) tubs for 9.5 x 4m garden. Once you get the first coat and let it dry, it is very quick to spray the remaining coats.The paint looks very watery at first but the sprayer still clogged several times. I eventually thinned the paint a bit and it really helped.

Really pleased with how this fence paint covered, our fence hadn’t been treated in years (by previous owners) and I honestly thought it would need about 5 coats! It didn’t this is just 1 coat - il probably give it 2 for an even better coverage!This was really easy to apply I used a small roller and a brush, although I ended up preferring the brush!Price was brilliant too I had a few tubs and paid as little as £8 for 5l!
