Great!
Review of SHOKZ OpenFit Air Open-Ear Headphones (2026) (black colour) I had not heard of SHOKZ, but cycling groups recommended the brand. I ordered these for occasions when I want to listen to music or a podcast, but still be aware of my surroundings, such as when cycling or sitting in a waiting room. Fit and comfort: I found them comfortable, and they felt safe and secure. Years ago, I had an old single-ear Jabra-style headset, which kept falling off. That experience put me off this type of design. However, the SHOKZ have changed my opinion. They fit really well and feel secure. I tried shaking my head, but they stayed secure. I also don't like traditional earbuds, as they tend to fall out of my ears. I do use regular earbuds, but in specific situations. Thankfully, the design works much better for me. How do they feel? : I asked a few family members to try them, and most thought they were great. However, one family member didn't like them at all. They told me to take it out of their year due to tingling sensation. So clearly, comfort varies from person to person. Music quality: The music sounded great. I'm not someone who listens at high volumes, as I'm conscious of protecting my hearing. A regular over-ear headphones will sound better, keep noise out but does get your ears warm. Bluetooth value: I had to put this to 35% volume. My other headphones are at 10% volume. My only concern is the Bluetooth volume level. I hope that when I switch to another pair of headphones, the volume doesn't suddenly become too loud. I am concerned about sudden noise causing hearing damage. Charging case (BOX): The charging case has just an LED light, with no display showing the remaining battery percentage. I would have preferred a proper battery level indicator. The coating on the box, might not be the best for long term, I hope it does not 'wear off' and leave unsightly marks. I prefer plain single plastic finish (only time will tell). Box vibility: I bought the black ones as that was the one on special offer. The box is black and it comes with a grey pouch. it makes it hard to find, when the earphones are in by ruck sack, or when you are lookign for them. Touch controls: I love the idea of touch controls. However, what I hate is having to remember what each tap or gesture does! Using one ear: I wanted the option of listening through just one ear, and thankfully this worked fine. I still prefer traditional over-ear headphones when I want to block out external noise. In a noisy train, these will not be good. So you do need ANC (noise cancellation). However, these SHOKZ are great for situations where you want to enjoy music while remaining aware of what's happening around you. For example, they would be ideal in an airport, where you can listen to music but still hear announcements. On the other hand, they wouldn't be much good on a plane, where you want to block out the constant noise of the engines. Overall, I'm pleased with them, particularly the comfortable and secure fit. They've changed my opinion of this style of headphone. These will not replace all your headphones. They are great in some situations but not others.

Versatile headphones that I cannot put down
Been using these for over a year and have to say, they're hands down by far, the best types of headphones I've ever had. I have a very nice over-ear headphones (high fidelity, amazing sound quality, noise cancelling) that haven't been used ever since I've bought these, because I just prefer the design and the quality of these open-ear headphones. I use them for workouts in noisy gyms, cycling, commuting on train, for daily work calls and just listening to music for hours while working. Everywhere I use them they are just perfect, not a complaint in all this time. The open ear nature allows me to be aware of my surroundings while cycling or running outside. In the gym, turning the volume a bit higher (depending on type of music) can cancel out the surrounding noise. Even my young daughter is using the headphones, and I feel more comfortable with her using them because of the open-ear design. I would rather her use this type of headphones than in-ear or over ear ones. The headphones don't have noise cancelling, which is great for me, as I always turn that feature off. The fit and the design is so good, I sometimes forget I have them on. Used these under hats in the cold seasons or with sunglasses while cycling or glasses while working and I've never had a problem with the fit, they've always felt very comfortable. Sound quality is nice, and the app allows you to play with the equalizer to tailor the sound to your specifications. I usually go through a full charge in a day or so, but they usually come out of the case in the morning and go back at the end of the work day, so battery life is pretty good and haven't seen any decrease since I have them. Since I use the headphones for work, I use the multi-point pairing and the switch between devices can sometimes be tricky, but to be honest, not sure if I blame the headphones or my work laptop. Switching between devices (when it happens) is very fast and seamless.

Comfortable with glasses
I have tried a few earhook style open earbuds, but struggled to find a set that were comfortable with my glasses. Often the hook is too thick making it hard to get a stable fit. For me these fit really well - they have a thinner earhook and the body of the earbuds has a slight inward curve that means it rests in my concha. Very stable and comfortable, but as always will depend on your ear shape. Sound quality is fine - I don't expect too much from this kind of unsealed design. Rating them 4 stars not 5 because: (1) Call quality has been rather average -> poor and I've had complaints from the person on other end that I sound muffled, and (2) Touch controls have sometimes been inconsistent. Overall feel these are good value and would recommend if you are looking for something comfortable to use for running or outdoor walks, or just around the home, and don't want to be fully isolated.

SHOKZ OpenFit Air; First Class!
SHOKZ OpenFit Air headphones: I took a long time deciding before purchasing SHOKZ OpenFit Air on the ear headphones. I required a replacement for my Google Pixel Buds 2, which, whilst delivering superb sound, had always been uncomfortable, and seemed to be getting worse. ( For 'best' Id' also got 'on the ear' Sony MX5's, which, whilst being expensive, delivered in spades ). My new SHOKZ OpenFit Air headphones arrived, as expected with Amazon, next day, without problem. These headphones 'paired' very quickly, at the 1st attempt. During continued use connectivity has been rock solid. The first time I put these SHOKZ OpenFit Air's on my ears, they fit. No fiddling about, no fine adjustments, just: fit. You know that saying "You won't even know you have them on"? It's true! With these SHOKZ OpenFit Air - After pausing music, or arriving home: I have forgotten I'd got them on, a few times, now. They are soooo light! I get no 'fit disturbance' when I'm wearing reading or sunglasses. They stay still and don't move during exercise At first, I would worry they would fall out, and now I don't Good sound, too: better, much better than I had expected for 'open fit' Battery life: excellent! I say that SHOKZ OpenFit Air are excellent value for money. So: I have these SHOKZ OpenFit Air, and Expensive Sony 'over ear' headphones. Q: How do they compare? A: Music quality, obviously, Sony, because they are over ear, Sony scores, too, on tricks & gizmos. Q: But: which do I reach for, now? I pick up the SHOKZ OpenEar Air ( almost ) every time! They are lighter, simple ( in a good way ) less fussy, their touch control is better and the sound quality is surprisingly very good. Several hundred £ difference between the two, but for me: best overall is the SHOKZ. Easily. . .

Worth the money. Great product
Brought for husbands birthday. They are that comfortable he forgets he's even wearing them. Sound quality is top notch and I cannot hear them when sitting next to him when he's using them. Perfect for when he's watching a film in bed while I'm still asleep. No complaints here

Shokz so comfortable to use.
These Shokz are very light and as everyone says you do forget that you are wearing them. they sit softly on your ears. Another nice thing is that they fit and have never fell off my ears. I also use a set of Sony WF1000XM5 in ear Buds which are fantastic sounding but I am not comfortable when out walking and have used various tips but sometimes they manage to pop out of my ear and then drop to floor. So far they have survived but very expensive if they break or I loose one. I now use them more at home when sat or pottering about. The design of the Shokz are simple and have responded every time when tapping the edges to control volume and receiving calls. They aren't as powerful in volume strength as my Sony's but im happy to sacrifice this for the feeling of security compared. Obviously the Sony's are stronger in terms of volume as they are in ear buds but I've never failed to struggle to hear my Shokz when outside in noisy environments. I have found that Im starting to use the Shokz more and more as they are so comfortable to wear. They have also been good when someone wants to ask you something or something makes you aware of of your outside environment e.g. walking on busy roads and crossing roads. The App is easy to download and has been simple to use. I like having the opportunity to switch the tones from listening to books and then change to extra bass for music. So far I have enjoyed using these Shokz and have to say wished Id had these along time ago. The battery use has been very good so far, comparable to my Sony's. They are easy to recharge with the included Usbc lead. The paper printed instructions inc are very easy to follow and are repeated on the downloaded App. Overall I would not hesitate to buy again and if I had to make a choice to buying them again as opposed to my Sony's then the Shokz would win. I also have to say that I wear glasses and I have never had any issues when wearing both.

One MAJOR flaw
Used these for year now, mostly for dog walks and runs. Not bad overall, but they have one major flaw so bad I'm going to have to replace them already. First the good. Sound quality is decent. Fit securely. Battery life is good, charge up fast. Solid case to store and charge them in. So all good stuff. Minor flaw, sometimes they don't connect to your phone when you take them out, sometimes they don't disconnect when you put them away. Not a huge deal, just try again and it normally happens as intended on the second go. Now the major flaw, so bad it makes them barely usable for their intended function. If there is ANY moisture at all, it activates the touch controls on them. Not sure if you've been to England, but in the winter it tends to rain a lot. And if you're doing a decent work out, you probably sweat. So you're running along, suddenly the headphone starts beeping and the volume drops. So you stop. Take it off, dry it, start off again, a minute later it starts doing it again. Repeat this for the rest of your run until you get home and can properly dry them off. Or you're on a walk with your hood up in the rain. Should be OK, right? No. The condensation inside the hood triggers them when they brush the inside of your hood. Massively irritating and makes them useless. Now off to find a product with physical buttons instead of touch controls.

I had low expectations, but I was wrong! HUGE FAN NOW.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THESE. Usually I opt for quite expensive in-ear earphones but these have FAR EXCEEDED my expectations. WHAT I LOVE: the sound quality is fantastic and you really feel like the sound is surrounding you I don't have that uncomfortable feeling inside your eardrums with loud music that I do with in ear earphones I actually really enjoy the sound at half volume, and only really turn it up to the loudest to block out my mum when she's on one, or traffic on busy roads. The open back/open air feature is MY FAVOURITE because it has meant I don't get reoccurring ear infections/issues like I have for almost 15 years! No aggravation from nasty in ear lack of ear and bacteria/fungal loving conditions from in ear earphones! When I am on a walk I do have to turn them down more so I can hear cyclists behind me because I nearly got ran over by a couple hasty ones that would rather smash into you with their bike than slow down and know you can both safely get past each other (WHAT IF I WAS DEAF?! HUH?) Sometimes I leave these on all day and forget they're on my ears. They are that comfortable, the design that goes around your ear is great, I initially put them on wrong but they just moved into the right position themselves as the time went on and gravity and movement did their jobs. The battery also lasts so long. Such an upgrade from my expensive jabra's and much more affordable investment! I actually don't have any cons and

Quite Amazing!
First: You ever try to eat with in-ear buds and you hear that chewing noise in your mouth travel all the way to your ears and you just throw them aside and watch a video without audio, or switch to speaker mode? NOT WITH THESE!!! I went through a lot of websites, reddit, forums, before finally settling on these to try. I've always used in-ear buds, and paid upwards of $400 for all sorts of good brands. And I really wasn't expecting the quality I am getting from these open ear ones. Truly marvelous how far the technology for these have come now. It really does sound very very, if not, pretty much the same as in-ear buds that block all noise. But the great thing about these is that you can really hear everything around you. You have a wife calling your name? Well, you'll hear it😅👌. You have a kid coming to your door? You'll hear it. You will hear it all BUT you will also hear the amazing music playing in your ears in very very good quality. Another crazy thing that I wasn't expecting was this; I always thought I'd have to turn up the volume really high to hear well since these are open ear, but no. The volume is at the exact same level as my in-ear ones, it really is profound how these work. It's like a mini-speaker near your ears, but better. They are also so light weight, you forget you're wearing them. Bass is also awesome for such small things. You really do have to try these to understand how amazing they are. They connected without any issues to my computer, and they will connect easily to your phone, there weren't any issues whatsoever.
