Essential reading for the beginner and intermediate bee-keeper
In this second of two small volumes, Dennis uses a question-and-answer format to address common bee-keeping issues using knowledge gained from his career as a commercial bee-keeper. Fundamental to his approach is avoidance of chemical treatment of hives, instead concentrating on promoting and maintaining healthy productive hives that can resist the various pests and diseases that apiaries are increasingly prone to. This book and his companion volume ‘Beekeeping, a Personal Story’ are essential reading for the beginner and intermediate bee-keeper.

Enjoyable - but significantly redundant to author's prior work
A great deal of this small book is redundant to a previous publication by the author . Mr. Brown's prior work, "Beekeeping - A Personal Journey", is helpful and informative. I was less enthusiastic with the Q&A book that, at about 120 pages, that seemed to have less new information or topics that a new book price should warrant. Combine the two works together and make it a solid single volume.

Easy to understand solutions to hard questions.
I loved this book as a follow up to Dennis Brown's other book, A Beekeeper's Personal Journey. It answers questions that are frequently asked , with comprehensive, easy to understand answers. Dennis is very intuitive about the problems and concerns that people encounter with their bees and hives. With his vast experience he probably has seen most everything and has been asked about most. He has a way of teaching and explaining in language that everyone can understand, the solutions to your bee problems. I highly recommend this book to everyone's library collection. Also, like that the answers are always chemical free solutions. Thanks, Dennis for a great book.Nini Hodges

Handy Quick Reference
I bought both of his books, love them both and primarily use this one as a handy quick reference. I like the question and answer format. I have heard him speak a number of times and this simulates the live Q & A that follows. I have been a beekeeper for all of three months and Dennis' teachings have saved me unnecessary time, money and energy. I highly recommend both books.

Good information. Easy to understand.
This is a great follow up to Mr. Brown's previous book, "Beekeeping A Personal Journey". Based on his years of professional and hobby beekeeping Mr. Brown has provided easy to understand answers that often come up, especially for the newbee. His chemical free bee culture philosophy and practice is covered in a common sense manner. The interview with Cletus is an entertaining break in an otherwise serious, though interesting read. I highly recommend both of Mr. Brown's books about beekeeping to anyone interested in the subject.
