Perfect for fitting in tight areas. Good quality.

If you do DIY work on modern European vehicles (like VW, Audi, Porsche, or BMW), a reliable set of XZN triple square bits is mandatory. I bought this individual Capri Tools M8 Stubby XZN Bit Socket specifically because standard-length triple square bits are simply too tall to fit into the narrow clearances around axle bolts, intake manifolds, and brake carriers. Here is my technical assessment of this socket after putting it through several heavy suspension and engine bay tear-downs.1. Compact Profile & Clearance AdvantagesThe "stubby" design makes a massive difference. This socket is roughly 20% shorter than a standard bit driver. When paired with a low-profile 3/8-inch ratchet, I was able to slip directly onto tight-clearance M8 fasteners without having to use a universal joint or an awkward wobble extension. This direct, straight-on alignment significantly reduces your risk of slipping and camming out the bolt.2. Material Strength & Torque TestingTriple square fasteners are notorious for being factory-torqued tightly and easily stripped if you use cheap tool steel. The Bit: Capri used premium S2 tool steel for the bit itself, which has been properly heat-treated. Under high torque with a breaker bar, the bit showed absolutely zero twisting, deflection, or rounding at the teeth. The Body: The 3/8-inch drive socket body is chrome vanadium with a flawless, highly polished finish. The size markings are deeply laser-etched and stamped, so they won't rub off when exposed to greasy hands or parts cleaner.3. Fastener EngagementOne subtle feature I appreciated is the clean chamfering on the tip of the bit. XZN fasteners have 12 precise internal splines. Because the tip is slightly beveled, the socket slides effortlessly into the bolt head, ensuring 100% full engagement before you start pulling on the wrench.Pros & ConsPros: Ultra-compact stubby length for tight access, rigid S2 steel construction that resists twisting, smooth chamfered tip.Cons: Strictly for hand tools only; do not use this chrome-plated socket on an impact gun.Final VerdictFor under ten dollars, this individual bit socket is an absolute toolbox necessity if you own a European car. It handles high-stress automotive demands flawlessly and saves you hours of frustration in tight spaces. Highly recommended.

works great, I returned this but only because I got an assorted size kit that included this size, I have a feeling this would excel around tight angles
