Well made and good value for price. However it is still an old fashioned spinning disc drive and therefore quite slow compared to more modern drives.

​I recently purchased the SanDisk Professional 2TB drive, and I’m very impressed with the quality. I am using it for video editing and portability, mainly. Often, product photos can be misleading, but this device looks and feels exactly as pictured. ​If you are using a PC and the drive doesn't seem to connect or show up immediately, don't panic! The drive is likely pre-formatted for Mac. To get it working on Windows, you simply need to reformat it. Check the instructions! Look for the "Help" section in the manual that came in the box. There is a QR code provided that takes you directly to a guide on how to reformat the drive for Windows compatibility. Once reformatted, it works flawlessly and is incredibly fast. ​Overall, it's a solid, professional-grade device. Just make sure to follow that QR code, if you're on a Windows system!

I ordered this in November of 2024, and it died in May of 2026. I only use this for backups of my laptop, and I don't move it around. My laptop no longer recognized it. I tried another laptop and had the same result. I sent it in under warranty and it was delivered to their location on 5/14/2026. The return status on the Western Digital site still says “Pending Return” almost a month later. I contacted them several times and received 2 responses. I have not received any response since June 1. They seem to be ghosting me. I can’t recommend this drive because it appears that the warranty response is either very slow or non-existent. Several others have made comments on Reddit about poor Western Digital customer service. I recommend purchasing Seagate drives.

Solid choice I love it. Switched from Lacie and I don’t deal with the photos lagging to appear in Lightroom Classic. The connector works well on the hard drive to laptop and doesn’t disconnect every so often like it does with LaCie. Price is worth it and I will definitely buy it again.

Bigger than expected, great in house, but too big for traveling in my opinion

Excellent external hard drive with outstanding build quality. The G-DRIVE ArmorATD feels extremely solid and durable, giving real confidence that it can handle travel, daily use, and the occasional knock without worry. The 2TB capacity is great for backing up photos, videos, and important files, while transfer speeds are very good for a portable HDD. Great product

A value-for-money portable drive. For $229 for 6TB, it is a steal. Yes there were concerns about its compatibility with windows. Google it, and obviously there were already folks before me who encountered this problem. It took me like one min to resolve it, followed the instructions given by Windows, and it was all ready to use!
