Great Budget telescope
I recently purchased this portable telescope, and I have to say, it has been an absolute joy to use. One of the first things that stood out to me was its portability—everything fits neatly inside a convenient carry case, making it easy to take on trips or store away when not in use. Whether I’m setting it up in the backyard or taking it to a darker sky location, the compact design makes transportation a breeze. One of the accessories that made my stargazing experience even more enjoyable was the included 3x Barlow lens. This was a great addition that helped magnify celestial objects, giving me a closer look at planets and deep-space objects. It was exciting to experiment with the different magnification options and see just how much detail I could pull in. Another feature I absolutely loved was the Celestron SkyPortal app. Connecting the telescope to the app made it incredibly easy to locate planets, nebulae, and other celestial objects. Rather than manually scanning the night sky and hoping to stumble upon something interesting, the app guided me straight to some breathtaking sights. This made my observing sessions much more efficient and enjoyable, especially as a beginner in astronomy. Speaking of observations, I was amazed by what this telescope was able to reveal. I was able to see the moons of Jupiter clearly, which was a surreal experience. Additionally, I got a great view of the Orion Nebula, where I could make out some impressive details. For a portable telescope, the clarity and sharpness exceeded my expectations. Beyond stargazing, I also had fun using the telescope for birdwatching. Looking at ducks and different bird species through the telescope was an unexpected but enjoyable bonus. It added an extra layer of versatility to the device, making it useful for both astronomy and nature observation. Overall, this telescope has been a fantastic investment. It’s compact, easy to use, and delivers excellent views of both celestial and terrestrial objects. Whether you’re a beginner looking for a first telescope or someone who wants a portable option for stargazing on the go, this one is definitely worth considering.

Solid beginner-level telescope
This product is marketed as a good telescope for beginners. Does that hold up, or is it a “hobby killer”? Here are my thoughts: The first thing I noticed is that the telescope is compact and very portable. It comes with a great carrying case that holds the telescope, tripod and accessories bag (which holds the lenses, the finder-scope, and more). The case has a shoulder strap and sturdy handles and is easy to carry. You can pretty much fit everything you’d need for an evening of stargazing into that case. It turns out the scope works great. I tested it on the moon and saturn and was able to get clear views of both. It comes with a 1omm and 25mm lens, plus a 3x barlow (which triples the magnification of whatever lens you use). I’m usually a fan of red-dot finders instead of finder-scopes, but I was pleasantly surprised with how well the included finder-scope worked. Also included is a cellphone mount that allowed me to use my phone to take pictures including the photo of the moon included in my video. All of those items worked well enough for being basic accessories. The tripod is also quite sturdy, especially for being so light. I’m not used to that style of Alt/Az (tilt/pan) tripod, so it took me a bit to figure out how to lock the tilt. (Hint: read the instruction manual first. You’ll save a lot of time!) But once I had the hang of it, it worked great. As with any “beginner” equipment there are several upgrades that could be made: adding a red-dot finder, better lenses, upgrading the cellphone mount, etc. But for what this telescope costs, I was absolutely satisfied with the performance. Yes, you can spend more and get better accessories, but if you’re getting something for a young person who may or may not continue with the hobby, this is a solid investment that won’t break the bank.

A solid choice
This is a great beginners/hobbiest telescope. It came well packaged and carrying case is a nice touch. It image quality is fantastic, better than it has any right to be for the price.

If you want to watch Jupiter & saturn with it's rings this telescope is the best
I literally just watched saturn & Jupiter cleary through my window glass. Was a little bit tiny but the saturn's rings were clearly visible. Can't wait to use this telescope outside for skywatching in summer.

Amazing Beginner Telescope — Clear Views & Great Value!
I bought this telescope for myself because I’ve always wanted to get into stargazing, and it has honestly exceeded my expectations. The setup was really easy — the instructions were clear, and I had everything put together in under 15 minutes. Once I started using it, the image quality blew me away. The moon looks incredibly sharp, and I was even able to see Jupiter and its moons on my first clear night. The optics feel high-quality, and the views are much brighter and clearer than I expected at this price. The tripod is sturdy and doesn’t wobble, which makes a huge difference when you’re trying to keep things steady. It also comes with multiple eyepieces and a phone holder, which actually works really well. Overall, this telescope is perfect for beginners or anyone getting back into astronomy. It feels like a great balance between price, quality, and ease of use. Definitely a 5-star purchase for me.

Quality for Price, Easy for Beginners!
I recently picked up the Hawkko Astronomical Telescope, and it’s been an impressive introduction to stargazing that comfortably balances power, clarity, and ease of use. Right out of the box, the telescope feels thoughtfully designed for both beginners and more curious hobbyists. With magnification ranging from 36X to 270X and a 900mm focal length, it delivers a satisfying level of detail—especially when observing the moon. Craters, shadows, and surface textures come into sharp focus, making each session feel rewarding and immersive. It’s also fun to use for distant terrestrial viewing, which adds to its versatility. What really stands out is the 90mm large aperture lens paired with full multi-layer coating (FMC). The difference is noticeable: images are brighter, clearer, and sharper than expected at this price point. Light transmission feels excellent, and even during less-than-perfect viewing conditions, the telescope performs reliably well. Stability is another strong point. The stainless steel AZ mount tripod is sturdy and smooth, offering full 360 degrees rotation and easy height adjustment from 28” to 46”. Tracking objects across the sky feels intuitive rather than frustrating, which is a big win in my book. Despite its solid build, the setup remains portable enough for backyard use, camping trips, or casual outdoor adventures. Setup was refreshingly simple. Following the instructions, I had everything assembled in under 15 minutes. The included smartphone adapter is a great bonu. It adds a fun, shareable element to the experience. Finally, the accessory kit makes this telescope truly beginner-friendly. With the finder scope, zenith mirror, 25mm and 10mm eyepieces, 3X Barlow lens, tripod, carry bag, accessory tray, and smartphone adapter all included, there’s nothing extra you need to get started. Everything fits neatly together, and the included carry bag makes storage and transport simple. Overall, the Hawkko telescope is a well-rounded, reliable choice for anyone looking to start their astronomy journey. It combines strong optical performance, thoughtful accessories, and user-friendly design into a package that feels both accessible and capable. Whether you’re exploring the moon for the first time or enjoying casual stargazing under the night sky, this telescope delivers an enjoyable and confidence-building experience. 🔭✨
