Best TV brand on earth.
I bought a 55” Sony Bravia LCD flatscreen TV back in 2005 when they weighed 2 tons and cost around $3K. I still have it and it runs beautifully. Matter of fact, I had to put my new 2024 60” Samsung TV away because that TV couldn’t live up to the quality of the Bravia’s picture. With that being said, the Bravia is quite literally the best TV I have ever owned. I bought 2 of these bad boys for the living room and I absolutely love them. Fantastic picture, vibrant colors, sharp images, and tons of customizations. I will never buy another brand of TV ever again. Bravia is the only way to go.

It’s a beautiful picture
The screen and picture are absolutely beautiful. The color too. The tv is worth the price. It did not come with the usual protection around it in box and had an issue with the live tv not working. Got it fixed with Sony. I love the picture

Awesome TV made unusable by Google
I don’t know what I was thinking. It makes no difference that I can see the Sony picture is beautiful when it takes literally hours upon hours to set it up and it is a fight every single step of the way. Google is the worst tv interface on .. was going to say the planet, but let’s go with Universe. I will likely be sending a gorgeous tv back because it is impossible to setup. Shame on Sony for being lazy and not developing something with the quality their hardware has. I own an LG and a Samsung tv in other parts of the house and they were both a breeze to setup.Update: changed from 1 star to 4. I persevered in the fight with Google TV and finally got it fully configured. I stand by everything I initially said about the setup process, but want to now give a review of the Bravia 8, especially as it compares to my Samsung and LG tv’s. There is absolutely no comparison when it comes to picture quality. Especially regarding color accuracy and overall depth. The Sony is king by a huge margin. I run the Sony in professional mode and it is stunning. There is almost an extra sharpness brought about by such an accurate picture. We watch allot of Prime video content and the curated video settings are amazing. Anything other than the vivid setting on the Samsung or LG is washed out and disappointing. Now that it is setup it is easy to use and I recommend it. The Bravia app for my phone is the best app remote control I have ever used. In fact I rarely reach for the tv remote and just use my phone.

TV with a lot of issues that are hard to overcome. Not worth the price.
Probably the worst TV we have had. We went from having a Phillips flat screen for 15 years that worked flawlessly. We got rid of it strictly because newer tvs had better features and also paired easier with other devices. This Sony randomly just restarts in the middle of tv shows. Frequently! No reason at all. It just powers down and back up again. Weirdest thing ever. One night it powered up at 3am when I was in bed and had been for hours. House was completely dark and silent. The TV just turned on. It was terrifying. (no kids or pets in the house that could have done it) The biggest complaint is that the sound is constantly off sync where you can see that the sound doesn't' match the lips. It's very distracting and hard to even focus on what you're watching. Tried customer service a couple of times and they removed over did a few tweaks, but nothing really stuck. We tried adding a sound bar to see if it would fix it, but that didn't help. It's unfortunate because the picture is nice.

Great quality 4K TV.
Have had this TV for about 6 months now and I can honestly say it was worth the buy.Had to upgrade since my 15 yr old plasma said I QUIT.Hopefully this will last just as long as it did.The picture quality is amazing. The screen being the speaker is a major upgrade from the traditional downward firing speakers(no echo). The Bravia 8 is a worthwhile purchase.

Great Picture and Sound But...
I have never purchased a television that wasn't from a big box retailer. Researched and this was the best size and reviews for my needs. Amazon delivered quickly and were nice enough to not just leave it on my porch. It was easy to unbox and set up thanks to a You Tube video. I couldn't set up Google TV so had to call and Sony had to update it. I decided to just keep it as standard TV since I have cable and a few streamers that were directly on the remote. I also had to adjust the picture to Vivid and adjust the blackness on the picture but that was easy to do. 55" was the right size as I was replacing a 14 year old Sony 46". Sony seems to have the best picture quality, find others way too vibrant and unnatural. The sound is also quite good on this set. I would recommend it as a good tv especially since I went by reviews only and did not see it in store. The picture is vibrant and looks so crisp, clear and natural. Amazon delivered!

Amazing TV. Setup and operation are easy if you read directions.
This a wonderful TV. Assembly and setup is quite easy, but you will need two people to carry this TV safely. Be sure to use highspeed (8 K) HDMI cables for best performance. The TV will work well on its own with a WiFi connection, but I added a Bose soundbar and a Sony Blu-ray player and an external antenna.Initially, I was frustrated with the TV because it would turn off every 20 minutes or so. I Googled "Bravia 8 shuts down" and came up with lots of answers. I finally found that Sony have a very good page dealing with this problem - all I had to do was change a setting on my soundbar.I was disappointed that Amazon left the TV at my door without even knocking on the door. I thought they would offer to help me carry it inside. But everything is fine now and I am thrilled with this TV.
