Medi Grade Ear Wax Removal Kit, Ear Cleaner with 10ml Olive Oil Ear Drops

I’ve had two professional wax removal sessions in the last 18 months. BUT. This is an absolutely brilliant product I had already been using Sodium Bicarbonate Ear Drops (Tesco) a few days before as it’s my preferred treatment for itchy ears, but I’ve always just left to clear naturally. Several flushes with warm water and what came out was a. incredible and b. disgusting. See photo and the large lump of detritus over the sink plug and the pressure had gone instantly and my hearing is back to normal.

I have to say I’m pretty impressed with this kit. Even reading the reviews I was still skeptical. I suffer from really runny waxy ears and although I know I shouldn’t I give them a clean with cotton buds every couple of weeks as If I don’t the wax just builds up into a yucky runny liquid. This time however I didn’t do my usual routine and left the cleaning of my ears for over 3 weeks, big mistake! I used my usual buds and the wax went straight down my ear drum and completely blocked it. All I could hear was muffled sounds in my right ear. It was very disconcerting and was affecting my balance. I had debated on going to the drs, but thought I’d give this kit a try first. The kit arrived next day on prime. The syringe and the bits that go into the ear were in a sealed bag and the olive oil was in a little bottle with a cellophane security seal. All very reassuring that nothing had been tampered with. I put some of the olive oil from the kit into my right ear as per the instructions which are very clear indeed (I ensured that I washed everything before use) Given how runny my ear wax is I didn’t really need the olive oil. I put the warm water in the syringe and did my left ear first. A couple of little bits came out and I must admit it did hurt almost like the popping you get in your ears on the decent of an airplane. I only did that side once. I then did the blocked one which I had to do twice and that hurt too, but I’m pleased to say my ear lugs are now clear I didn’t get any residue wax from what I could see, I guess due to the fact that my wax is the runny type there was nothing to see! What a result. I Will definitely be using the kit from now on. No more cotton buds for me I hope you found this review helpful

Good kit overall. The drops softened the wax well and the syringe was easy to use. It took a couple of tries to fully clear my ears, but it worked in the end. Handy to have at home and safer than cotton buds.

Reasonable price but unfortunately this didn't work for me. I've been told by gp that my ear is completely blocked with hard wax and so this is probably why it didn't work for me. I'm still using the drops that come with this.

I didn't have a high expectation of this product and was therefore amazed when, with the first filling of the syringe, it completely cleared the debris from the problem ear. It was simple, painless and not in the slightest uncomfortable. I used lukewarm water. I paid £8.85 for the kit and weighing that against the local cost of ear cleaning of £60-£90 convinces me it was an entirely worthwhile purchase with incredible value for money. I fully accept that not everyone's experience would be the same because it all depends on how much debris is in there and if it's impacted or not and of course if you've been using oil based drops or hydrogen peroxide beforehand - I had, for four days. I got a second chance to use this a year after I'd bought it when one of my ears blocked. Instead of waiting days for wax etc to soften using drops I employed the syringe straight away and it worked. It cleared the offending material out straight away.

Used olive oil for couple of days. Used syringe gently as instructed 6 times. Seemed to make blockage worse.

Recently impacted (blocked hearing completely) my left ear using a TikTok trending camera ear cleaner which connects to your phone via an app. The device pushed the large ball of wax further into my ear and it was very painful and cause me to worry. I used this product, applying the oil for 36hrs every 12hrs then syringed this and now I have my hearing back. What I have learned from this experience from reading online is never put things in your ear except solutions and water pumps, anything that pokes around in there is a massive NO. This product however as this is a review about that is brilliant, it does exactly what it says and it says. About the 7 days of olive oil first direction, I think depending on how much you are worried massage as much as you can while the oil is in there throughout the day and like myself and a few others try syringing after a day or two. If you are not worried and it is more an annual clean for you, applying the oil for longer period as advised will probably garner better results, mine was a Hail Mary attempt to fix my ear and my worry. Let me tell you - WOW! I've had a plugged up ear causing pain and the doctor couldn't see me for weeks. I thought why not give this a whirl, and it worked amazingly. So, this $7 just saved me hundreds of dollars. The tips on the syringe squirter water to the sides of the ear canal and not directly into it (which is what you want). We could NOT believe the amount of wax that came out of that ear. Not gonna lie - it was gross. Have no idea what caused that as I don't put qtips in my ears. You'll have to flush a couple of times (we had to do 3) and the immediate relief when that wax came out cannot be explained. Pro tip - put softening drops in your ears a couple times a day for 2 to 3 days before using the flush method.
