Made in Japan well crafted bowl, a work of art
I wanted a dedicated bowl for Ramen. At first this bowl sold by Tansu seemed Apple expensive at $17.49.However, I was very pleased when it arrived. It is actually a work of art. It is a happy swirl of relaxing colors, and surprisingly the top edge has an imitation bronze ring - the has bumps (like salt on a tequila shot glass). The print inside the bowl is a mash-up of ocean waves and long stringed noodles. And the "waves" are of different tones so adding depth. On one side of the inside you can feel the ceramic ridges from "noodle strands" which is awesome. The outside of the bowl if flipped over seems to be a different scene. It starts as sandstone and then blue is mixed in. Like the look of yogurt being mixed with the fruit at bottom or stirring chocolate syrup into ice cream. Very creamy impression -- that is a great look for warm or cold breakfast. And the exterior sides have slight contours. The base has a very solid 2inch ring. The ring lifts the bowl up about half an inch so hot food doesnt directly touch and makes the bowl very sturdy.Cleaning is super quick and easy thanks to it skateboarders bowl shape. I am very pleased and delighted with this bowl, and I am confident you will be too.

My favorite bowls
I love the design, the weight and texture. You can feel the design that was combed into these bowls.I bought 2 of these and want a few more in case I accidentally break one someday. In the mean time, I only use them to eat Ramen with or do food photography with. They are so beautiful especially with a set of chop sticks leaning out of them or placed on top.If you are looking for a classy yet rustic Ramen bowl, this is the perfect dish for you.Last little note. Some Asian dishes with blue coloring can have Led in them (for the pigment or something, I don't know a ton on the subject). As far as I could tell, these are high quality Japanese bowls that don't use this type of paint/pigment. If you do some Googling, you can find the company and investigate yourself. I would post the company name here but its been a few months since I looked it up and I don't remember it off the top of my head. But you can feel safe using them.

Best bowls ever!!!!
Love these bowls. I have these and the smaller rice bowls and am not disappointed at all! Love the color....love the sturdiness of these bowls. We have a large family and no dishwasher so in hand doing dishes they do inadvertently get bumped around and these have held up beautifully! No chips or dings at all.We love all things Japanese so the pattern is so awesome. Plan on getting the serving bowl too and adding even more of these bowls to our set as we don't have one for each of us.You can't go wrong and worth every dollar!

Broken ramen dreams
Well, right away, when I picked up the box, I prepared to be disappointed because I could hear "clinking" inside it. Sure enough, the bowl was broken in pieces. It's a shame because it really is a beautiful design. I was looking forward to using it for food photography.Update: Seller reached out and apologized for the inconvenience and replaced the broken bowl immediately, really impressive with the holidays around the corner! Arrived pristine and gorgeous. More beautiful than the product photos!

Ramen lover approved
This was a gift for my ramen loving kiddo. It was well received and is well loved. They like that it doesn't conduct the heat of the soup so much that the dish will burn your hands. It is also beautiful and well made.

Sturdy and beautiful
Stoneware bowl is beautiful in appearance and has since become my go-to bowl for all things ramen, natto, ice cream, and rice.

Perfect for my ramen loving husband.
Ridges make it difficult to clean. Have to scrub pretty hard. Other than that it’s a lovely addition to our kitchen.

28 ounce bowl
This is a nice bowl. It is not hand painted, but looks nice. I filled it with water to the brim and it holds 28 ounces. That may be a good size for people who are making instant ramen or a side salad, but for anything more ambitious its on the smaller side since you would never fill it to the brim. I like to have a collection of different sized bowls so they can stack easily and the shape of this is good as a smaller bowl. For the price it would elevate your instant ramen game to something more like a meal.
