I'll start with the negatives as that's what i normally look for in reviews:1. Despite excellent package the product i received was scuffed (like something hit it) in 4 areas. It doesn't bother me all that much cause it's just a matter of time before i did them myself.2. the drill chuck shipped with the product works but isn't a great fit. Something with a short shaft to insert into press would provide more clearance. I do intended on replacing it sooner then later but just an additional expense to plan for.3. The base plate is small, when working on a bigger project your fighting holding the leather with your left hand, making micro movements to get everything lined up perfectly again with your left hand, and then with your right hand pulling down on the press bar. making/having some sort of flush extension would be great in this situation.4. I really which the main rear shaft that you do your height adjustment on was slotted at 0 degrees, 10 degrees, 20 degrees, etc... it's very challenging to loosen the 2 set screws, position your height perfectly, and center everything to match the line access your looking for. If it was slotted it would help.Positives:1. Works and works well. From using leather hole punches, stitch holes punches, corner cuts it all works and works well.2. Quiet, I can now work inside without people getting frustrated at the noise I was making previously.3. Works great for any size stitch punch, if your using a 4 or a 6 and get to a corner just hand press with a 2 prong around the corner and continue with the 4, 6, or whatever your using until you finish with that one and then change it out to the 2 for the rounded corners. that way you only have to make the change once instead of multiple times.4. Smooth operation, the force required to operate this tool for me has been very easy. Obviously there are contributing factors such as the sharpness of the tool you are using and the type of leather you are using. I personally use the included white board and a 1/2" piece of neoprene on top of that when using this. The neoprene is firm against the letter but lets my tools cut into it without damaging the sharpness and offers really clean cuts onto the leather.If you have read this far it's likely you are very interested in this product and i would recommend it. If 2 of my 4 negatives weren't there this would be a 5 star product for me. Regardless for the $100-110 price range + eventual chuck replacement, it's at it is worth the investment.

This made me so very happy to receive. And, it made my family members happy as well. Mainly because I can get the same work done, without all the hammering I was doing. It also worked well for me placing grommets. And for some non leather applications. A Press is a press. And this one is decent.

The description states this item is upgraded to a solid shaft. I assumed they were describing the support column shaft since all similar punch presses have a solid round or square punch shaft. The support column shaft on this device is hollow with welded end plugs. The design also seems to want to skip a gear about halfway down. Can't figure that one out. The one I received also looked as though it had been tampered with once before. also the machining workmanship on this one is sloppy. We have decided not to endorse or recommend this product and have returned it without an exchange or substitute.

There was not a single piece of paper in the box. Assembly was fairly simple but I have a machinist background. Works great though. I would give a five if it had some instructions.

I have been using this press for a week now and have been surprised in the amount of leather work you can process in a short time. I especially like the easy adjustment to tool height, spring loaded press shaft on the return, steel base and the smooth action of the press shaft. The fit and finish is very good - free of burrs. A drop of dry lubricant makes the press shaft work perfectly. The wrenches provided are of decent quality and since they are frequently used to adjust to the tool in use keeping them on the tool itself. - I am using very small "NEO" magnets to adhere wrenches to the steel base. As to misses: the provided chuck does not move easy & on mine it jams, the white sacrificial plate is very slippery and does not stay in place alone, the base is just not stable without hard anchoring to a surface and there is no clear instruction on use of the Divided measurement anvil block provided. The condition and look of your finished stitching looks better exponentially with the consisistent spacing made possible with "speed" using the punches with even pressure. Love this press.

Yeah, I love this thing. Sure, it is a leather hole punch, but this is also a press and useful for so much more. I use this when I don't need a lot force but do need precision and the ability to neatly and precisely put a hole in plastic. Lots of stocks, forends, handguards, and accessories, to name but a few, are made with high quality polymers and it isn't easy to modify them and make it look like it came that way from the factory. This tool gives me that ability. Plus it is well made
