I really like that these toothbrushes are made with no plastic. Plastic bristles can leach microplastics into my mouth so I'm glad I don't have to worry about that anymore. The bristles were a bit hard to start with but they do soften up some. The bamboo handle is easy to grab. My teeth are clean and smooth. Plus, these toothbrushes are definitely environmentally friendly.

This is a fantastic product. Does what its intended to do. It does, however, taste a bit... boarish... the first few (2-3) brushes. If you can't tolerate that then maybe pass on these and try the horse hair ones. Perhaps horse tastes better than boar? Also a few of the bristles came off in my mouth which had the same irritating effect as swallowing a hair. Not a deal breaker and hasn't happened again since the first couple brushes. IMPORTANT NOTE: It is ESSENTIAL that you leave this brush out to dry after use. Leave it out for at least 6 - 8 hours. Bamboo is VERY prone to mold if left wet.

These pass my clean material list! I like the size and weight of the handle. The bristles are comfortable on my gums. I have board other boar bristle tooth brushes and they lost bristles very easily. These do not!! 10/10 recommend

I really wanted to love the PRIMALS Boar Bristle & Bamboo Toothbrushes (4-Pack). In fact, I’ve ordered them three separate times since late 2024 because I was genuinely trying to transition away from plastic toothbrushes and reduce exposure to microplastics and unnecessary synthetic materials. And with all of the rave reviews, I thought I’d absolutely love these. I also intentionally gave these a long trial period because I wanted to be fair and see whether they truly were a good long-term product before leaving a review. I appreciated the company’s focus on sustainability, biodegradable materials, bamboo handles, and avoiding nylon bristles and petroleum-based plastics. The concept is wonderful, and I truly wanted these to work for our household. Unfortunately, after using them for about a year and a half, I’ve decided I will not be ordering them again. The biggest issue for me has been my dental health. Since switching to these brushes, I have experienced significantly more plaque buildup than ever before. In addition to the plaque, I’ve also noticed much more staining on my teeth during this period. No matter how diligently I brushed, my teeth never felt as clean as they do with other toothbrushes. Another concern is the bristle shedding. Every few days, I would notice at least one boar bristle coming loose during brushing. Maybe some people would not mind this, but personally it made me uncomfortable wondering whether I may have accidentally swallowed some over time. The brush head is also quite large, making it difficult to comfortably reach the very back molars and fully clean those areas effectively. I still appreciate what the company is trying to do from a sustainability standpoint, and I applaud the effort to create a more natural alternative. Sadly, in my personal experience, the tradeoff came at the expense of comfort, cleanliness, and overall dental health.

10/10. Best toothbrush I’ve ever owned. I don’t need anymore microplastics getting into my body. This is the only toothbrush I’ll buy from now on. On the curious note, how are the bore bristles held into place? If they are just glued in with formaldehyde or something I think it ruins the point of being “non toxic”. Hopefully sometime from the company can respond to this.

really nice they work well, they're definitely physically appealing, BUT the bristles are delicate since they are made from boar hair! and they're completely compostable if I'm not mistaken! I believe they have a kid's size if you're like your children

Eerlijk gezegd zou ik het niet meer kopen. De borstel (haren) zijn veel te klein en te kort. Goed voor kinderen of mensen met een heel kleine mond. Het handvat is ok maar naar de haren toe mocht het wel wat smaller zijn.

Would I buy it again? Yes. Will I buy it again? Yes. I was worried that the firmness would be too soft because I massage my gums gently with a firm brush. I only tried one in the package, but it's firm, and it's excellent. I will probably buy multiple at once next time. Very nice packaging. edit: The fact that it can stand on its own is awesome. edit 2: removing 0.5 stars because the bristle comes out.
