A quality product - well made, well thought out
This was bought mainly for use when running in the evenings and is the best head torch I've used. The torch is well made: The head straps are comfortable and adjustable, keeping the torch in place on a sweaty head and in the rain. The wave function to turn it on and off is really, really useful - no need to fumble with small switches when you have numb, wet or gloved hands, although you can use the switches if you want. The wave function is well designed and implemented. A strong wave motion is required, meaning you are unlikely to activate it by accident (or for leaves, insects, low flying birds to trigger it) which has been an annoyance with other more sensitive wave activated torches. Also, having multiple brightness settings is great - I've only needed to use the first setting so if I do accidentally trigger the wave sensor, I'm not immediately plunged into darkness. The light given off is bright, focussed and wide enough to provide a good line of sight. All in all a great product, maybe a little more expensive than other available products, but the quality and function of the PathBrite head torch is well worth the spend.

Who needs Petzl?
Based on what I can see and feel right now, it looks a great product and much cheaper than the famous brand! However, this review isn't really completed as I've not actually used it in anger yet..... I have a fell walking/camping weekend in the Lakes next month...... that I'm sure will be a great location to test the capability of this head torch.Great independent manufacturer and very fast protective delivery. I would highly recommend at this stage..... thank youUpdate:An awesome head torch with some fantastic functions (button free swipe activation is a godsend!)Don't look at the main brand until you've checked this bad boy out!

It is very bright and good fit torch
I have used it 5 or 6 times only when I am running at night. (Usully about an hour run ). It is very bright and good fit torch. After all that 5 or 6 hours of using it still very bright it doesn't look like it is going to run out quite yet.Very easy to use the switch on , off button but when you turn it on sensory mode , you do struggle to turn it off and on.

Great head torch, short life
I was initially pleased with this light, despite the rather high price (I believe that usually, you get what you pay for).I can't help feeling cheated now. I bought a second unit for my mum and within about a year, both had fallen apart! The hinge for the battery compartment is just crap, sorry. Don't expect this to last much more than a year.

Perfect for Running
Sits comfortably on my head (I have a pea sized female head) and there is plenty of expansion room. The torch size is just right, the buttons are easy to deal with when on the run and the light on full beam is almost like running in daylight. I can't comment yet on battery life when used on full beam or used in torrential rain. The S.O.S. light seems good and, as a septuagenarian runner, I could well be testing it shortly. All in all a great little torch which I would be happy to recommend.

It works well on all settings and the most powerful setting is amazingly bright with a very good directional beam
I have received the head torch. It works well on all settings and the most powerful setting is amazingly bright with a very good directional beam. I bought it to use mainly for DIY. Obviously I have only had it one day and it is too soon to evaluate it properly. My only doubt for the future is whether the plastic catch for the battery compartment will remain undamaged. I have a camera where the plastic lugs on the battery compartment broke off the body and the camera was useless afterwards.

Great. LIght and sturdy on the head
Great . LIght and sturdy on the head. IR control works 75 % of time. 3 brightness easy to distinguish indoors.....but strangely not outdoors. On max brightness the spot light throws a beam 6ft wide at a distance of 10 ft see photos. Could see red reflectors well over 100 yards away. Used when running ,very stable. Used on a well worn track not in wild. What you shine it on can vary the perception of the brightness,eg grass reflect better than a dirt track. A field of cut crops reflects well also.see photos. Red light is only good for shirt distances which I knew when I read it. Great value for money.

much better than the imported crap that I have tried tested ...
I have put this headlamp through its paces now and it comes out on top, much better than the imported crap that I have tried tested and failed miserably, even some of the renowned makes have failed over this little beaut. The PathBrite is simplicity at its best, durable, robust with a powerful beam and functionality as it should be, not complex. It would be interesting to see if Pathbrite could produce a rechargeable version of this designed Headlamp and put the rest to shame.I Would Definitely Recommend this product.
