We have a TCL tv that because of its placement in our entertainment console has a very thin, tinny sound. The TCL soundbar is really good. It is easy to install, the subwoofer (wireless connection) pairs beautifully and the sound is progrmable although we have stayed with the factory defaults. We have no complaints. Hoping it lasts as it makes 100% difference in the tv watching.

Very easy to set up. Just plug in both the sound bar and the subwoofer. Connect the included HDMI cable from the soundbar to your HDMI Arc input on your tv and you’re done. Subwoofer connects wirelessly on its own. Very easy. Sounds good for the price range. Big upgrade if you’re currently only using the TVs built in speakers. Subwoofer level can be adjusted on the remote. Remote also has preset sound options as well as the ability to change the bass and treble level.

Virtually no setup required to connect to my TCL TV. Easy to switch between sound fields via the tv remote. Good sound with the subwoofer. I have retired the receiver and jungle of cords to the basement.

I received this yesterday and hooked it up to my Samsung TV using the HDMI- ARC port. It connected automatically. The sound is clear and an improvement from my 15 year old Sony speaker system. There are a couple of negative issues. Perhaps this works BEST with a TLC or ROKU TV, because the remote control BASS control did not change the sound. In addition after turning the TV back on later, I had to re- sync the subwoofer. If that happens daily I will reduce to a three star review. The bass speaker is not overpowering and in fact sounds minimal at times but it still adds depth. The bass on my last system was overpowering, so i prefer this. For the price I can live with the system not being perfect and would recommend it

I honestly don't get how anyone could give this sound bar a bad review. It was easy to set up, the sound quality is great, and it's got enough power for my bedroom. It doesn't have a display, which I don't care about since my TV controls the sound. It comes with a controller and you can connect it from the TCL home application. It came with an HDMI, but I already had a high-quality one of my own.

Never had a sound bar before. Have wanted one for years. Toooo many options out there. The WireCutter recommended this as budget option. Love it. Great entry level and perfect for main room, secondary TV, or even bedroom. Works seemlessly with my TV. Subwoofer has some good thump too.

I might buy a 2nd one! .. I've never had 5.1 surround, so this upgrade from my Roku TV speakers to 2.1 is an INCREDIBLE UPGRADE & Experience. Very powerful IMO. My system got all confused on initial setup. The good Ole, "unplug, wait some time, replug in" and let it figure things out, worked just great. I bought the $99 refurbished pricing... It's the way to go as the warranties, etc are the same as new. 👍

The TCL S55H 2.1 sound bar exceeded my expectations as it fills my studio-size bedroom like a 3.1 system. The vocals are so clear, the bass is thumping and it gets pretty loud for my use case. The volume never passes 10 (it goes to 100) for me as that volume seems high though I must say that I mostly turn my TV on at night. The best experience with the sound bar is had via the TCL Home app especially with the AI Sonic feature enabled. The bar is not too big as it fits neatly a top my entertainment stand. I’ve had no issues so far with connectivity via the HDMI connection. The eARC is reliable and works well with my 58” JVC QLED 4K TV.
