Good gift
This was smaller than expected but nicely packaged and presented really well in a lovely box. It’s a Christmas gift for my science fanatic son and I know he will love it. I tried it out to make a rainbow and works really well. Can’t wait til Christmas.

The glass is perfect
The illustration is a bit misleading. In the illustration it looks like it comes in a lined presentation box, but mine was a small red cardboard box with split in the base. The lining is simply wrapped over some polystyrene type material that looks like it was cut out by hand to roughly fit the prism and protect it.However, this didn't matter because the prism itself is superb, perfect optical glass, and we've had a lot of fun with it.

The Huygens principle
My daughter requested a ‘prism’ as a Christmas present. I had to verify this twice.. a prism!?!?Why would a 9-year old need a prism? Moreover, I only learned about prisms at high school and never gave them another thought. But she explained to me that she wanted to refract light through its polished, angled surfaces - curious, but fair enough. Then she gave me a whole lecture about how it will help her to change the speed of light as it moves from one medium to another. And that the dispersion depends on the wavelength or colour. I wonder what goes on in her head and where she gets that from..Anyway, I bought her this reasonably priced perfectly angular device as a stocking gift. And must admit that I quite like the presentation. The acrylic prism comes in a neat little box wrapped in a silk-like cloth. So it makes a good gift for mad scientists, geeks and lab rats.

wasteful pacjgngh covered in fingerpribts
I only wanted a prism, the packaging is so wasteful! Also included was a stupid panda key ring. I don't need all of this extra stuff that I will either have to hoard or throw away. The prism itself was covered in fingerprints, but everything is fine after a wash.

Neat little prism that the kids enjoy
This has a lovely little presentation box to keep it clear of sticky fingers - but it's the sticky fingers that have had the most fun with this in our house. It's been really interesting seeing the difference between CFL bulbs and LED bulbs as the more modern LED bulbs and torches diffuse into far fewer colours than other bulbs so this led to some very interesting questions from our children and subsequent super-fast googling for the answers for me. A lovely little trinket for enquiring minds!

Displays a great, clear spectrum.
Clear spectrum - the colours are displayed ROYGBIV and are easily identifiable - well packaged - comes in a neat storage box for safe keeping - all round a great product whether for the classroom or general interest.

Works well on a nice sunny day
Just a bit of fun for my granddaughters. Just to show them how the natural light can be split into different colours

Good prism for teaching
I've had the prism for 2 months now. It's a good clear prism for teaching light to child - vivid bright rainbows are easily achieved with natural or torch light. Good quality glass that has stayed scratch-free so far. The prism is easy to keep clean with a soft lens cloth and the gift box is sturdy and has survived well so far.
