Fun, easy to assemble kit
This is well designed, well made. and easy to build. It shoots the little pellets between 8 to 12"It's good for demonstrating the principles that make a rail gun work

Amazing Electrical Engineering Project
It's complicated, you need to have a bit of prior knowledge or a good web-source to build this right on the first try. The final product is worth any hassle though, you end up with a cool desk toy that you can shoot projectiles with.Only real complaint is that the red 100% LED doesn't light up, and I know it's not just my build because I've seen other people on here complaining about it as well.ALSO: if you're wondering why the projectile is firing backwards, push the tube in more so that some of it is sticking out the back side of the launcher, then push the projectile into that bit without letting it go past the copper coil part. The magnetic field flings it randomly when you slide it directly into the black copper coil chamber. In summary, fun build, it works, I loved it, worth the money spent.

Great educational opportunity
This was fun to build great tool to learn about size was good value is a plus durable product in my opinion easy to follow instructions

Not nearly as good as video.
Not impressed. It does shoot, sort of. Barely come out of barrel. Put 2 more caps in parallel and results slightly improved. Easy enough to solder. There is one spot that pads are very close so mind the gap. Did not work well enough for me to use for demo.

Excellent kit. Great for teaching about magnetism and capacitors
Shooter worked first time! Not difficult to assemble but probably better for teen, or adult supervision needed. I would have liked some explanation of how the circuit works to make it a truly educational toy. Also explanation of resistor color code would have been good.Overall though, a great kit. On the plus side, there seem to be extras of several components which is nice, and the case is beautifully made. Disagree with reviewer that said "underwhelming performance" You have to play with the shooter 'barrel' and the 'bullet' location to get the optimum position relative to the coil. That's part of the fun of a DIY / educational toy! I can shoot at least 5 feet horizontally, admittedly with a 'drop' of about 18". But it's definitely viable as a toy to shoot, say, a tower of soda cans.

Fun kit; does not go to 100% power
As others have mentioned, it works, but either it does not reach 100% power or the red led is not working.
