Schneider universal ground plate

Arrived quickly, sturdy, galvanised and easy to use. It dose require a 40cm sq hole which will use 4 bags of postcret. Be quick as you do only gave 7-10 minutes before it sets. One- tip place the holding bolts in the holes before you cement in just to stop them blocking up underneath preventing them being screwed in fully when set.

Very strong product, but not cheap. I’ve sunk it into concrete and covered with patio. Looks very professional!

Bought this based on reviews. We dig a 40cm sq hole and filled woth postcreate. Took about three bags. Put this post in. Used a level on the plate to.male sure its flat. Leave to set. And then bolt on parasol. This parasol is going nowhere. The base is very well made. Very solid. I would have no hesitation recommending this. I bought a second one for another parasol.

This is an excellent product.Deducting a star because it is sold as a UNIVERSAL ground plate. It is not.This has 2 sets of screw holes which are spaced too far apart if you wish to bolt on an umbrella stand directly on to this.To fit a more common stand you require a rotating plate which bolts to this stand and then the parasol fixes to that with screws that are closer spaced. Such a plate ships with Schneider parasols of course but it would be nice to see that sold separately to make this truly universal.

Far safer than a weighted parasol base which are a total trip hazard. Dig a hole, mix 5 bags of sand with cement, poor it in and then sink the ground plate into it, check it’s perfectly level using a spirit level. But yourself a paddle mixer to attach to a drill and a bucket to mix the cement in.

Just what I was looking for. A well made product and stops the need for having an ugly base on the ground.I’d recommend a 360 counterlever parasol to go with it so you have the option to move it as the sun moves.Works perfectly with the Umbra® Extra Large Cantilever Parasol, Round – 3.5m.
