C4 really brought the shine back in this car
C4 Chemical Guys Compound is a solid product that improved the paint appearance of my car. At first, it was NOT noticeable because I had been using CG Extreme BodyWash & Wax for the past year. The car wash solution and regular car washing will keep my car shiny without the need for compound and polish. However, taking a deeper look at the paint with C4 application shows that the solution eliminated about 80% of the light scratches. These scratches, caused by car wash brushes and snow removal tools, were practically gone. While deeper scratches, like those from snow shovels or door contacts, were somewhat muted, they were not completely removed. Previously, I had no routine for addressing scratches on my car, which had accumulated over six years + plus three years before ownership. Thanks to C4's scratch removal, the depth of the Crystal Black Pearl paint became more visible. Throughout the day, I noticed the color really 'pops.’ To fully appreciate the progress, you need to examine the area closely in the dark with a flashlight. C4 is excellent for restoring paint to a high shine, but it won't completely bring back the car's original factory gloss. Regular hand washing will help reduce the frequency of compounding (I learned should only be done once or twice) and polishing (6 months or annually). I anticipate this DIY project will last until the fall. Realistically, since the car is not garaged, I don't expect the results to last more than six months, but time will tell. My advice compound and polish is better in the fall because I constantly have to rinse or take a microfiber cloth to see glossy with the daily dump of pollen and dust in May.

The Cut Correction is Excellent
I recently ordered the Chemical Guys C4 & P4 Clear Cut Correction Compound and Precision Paint Perfection Polish Combo packet. I am planning to sell my Benz and decided to try and make the car look detailed. I did my research and compared reviews, costs, and instructions and found that this product had great reviews and the cost was in-line with that of other similar products. The products arrived on the day indicated and the directions were easy to follow. Application of the products were easier than I anticipated and can be applied with a buffer or by hand. Since the Cut Correction is removing built up dirt and corrosion, it is important to wash the vehicle before using. I already had a handheld buffer so I decided to buff the car with the Cut Correction. All of the corrosion and slight scratches were easily removed. I tried buff out some of the deep scratches, but was less successful even with multiple attempts. However, these scratches are through the paint and I was just taking a long shot at success. However, overall the Cut Correction did a good job. While the Cut Correction does not indicate using the products on the headlights, my headlights were heavily scratched and had started turned yellow. I was recently had a detailer quoted $90 per headlight for cleaning them. I was delighted that the Cut Correction worked great removing all the corrosion and scratches, even the embedded dirt. Please note that if your vehicle is a light color you will need to take care to wipe away all of powered build up from the Correction Cutting. After buffing, I next tried the Precision Polish. The polish can also be applied with a buffer or by hand. The instruction stated that I would end up with a “mirror like finish”. However after trying the polish on the trunk, the finish was much duller than I expected and did not have a wet look. I must admit that I have been spoiled by using a ceramic polish (see my previous review of Fortify Shine Armor) and always receive a wet gloss look. I am giving this product a 4 star review based the exceptional job with the Cut Correction. However, there are more effective polishes on the market.

It worked for my situation
This stuff really worked, I had a scratch on my truck I could catch with my fingernail and figured I’d give this “snake oil “ a try. While assuming I would need to spend a ton of money at a shop to actually correct it. With the use of a wool buffer pad on a cordless drill and following the bottles instructions the scratch is virtually gone and I felt compelled to leave my first ever product review.

Great product
I use a lot of Chemical Guys products on my vehicles, they seem to have really high quality products at reasonable prices. When I got a heavy scratch on my trucks fender flare, I knew I couldn't leave it looking like an eye sore. Found this Chemical Guys scratch kit on Amazon and got it a day later. This is a two part compound where you use a rougher compound to get the scratch out, and a finishing compound to polish. Needless to say both work flawlessly and the polishing compound made the touchup area look better than the rest of the vehicle.

Quality, mis handled
I have the product, but the seal of the P4 bottle was already open. How do i know they didn't refill with something else is the seal is broken?. The other bottle came as should. But that's unacceptable.
