Last one ordered was a flop, the chrome peeled and chipped off the top plates, cutters were too soft after 3 sharpening's causing dulling before a tank of fuel was used. 5 tanks of fuel and the chain is more than half filed down.

So far so good. I've only cut a couple chords of wood so far but they seem to be holding up really well. I've run Carlton chains for years and never had a problem, but for the money I figured I would give oregon a chance. I'm very happy with how it is cutting through the hardwoods and they don't seem to heat up at all.

This is a 'real' chainsaw chain. I like Oregon chains overall better than original Husqvarna and Stihl. The skip sequence (Skip-link) chain is the one that really cuts big wood fast. The only catch is that is can cut you real fast. If you are accident prone you shouldn't use a chainsaw anyway but this chain can kick back more than the 'anti kickback' chains. The trade off is that this cuts through wood like butter with enough power behind it and care in handling. It spits little chunks of wood instead of dust. I use with a 20" bar on a Husqvarna 455 Rancher.

I have a LOT of dead Oak trees to cut up, and this thing doesn't mess around.Make sure you are experienced with a chainsaw before trying this, it chunks right through wood.I doubt there is much kickback protection on this chain.Will be buying many more of these!

I have been using this version of Oregon chain for 30 years. The quality is still excellent. Over the years I've have cut a lot of hard and soft wood both green and dead. I have always liked the way it aggressively cut's.
