## Features

- MARIS PEER SECOND EARLY SEED POTATOES: An unusual potato that is versatile and great for cooking, Maris Peer potatoes are a magnificent variety, with flowers on the foliage even scented. Harvest Second Early varieties 13 – 15 weeks after planting for best results, with the traditional planting time being March – April. Maris Peer potatoes have good resistance to all skin diseases.
- PERFECT FOR BAKING, SALADS & BOILING: Potatoes are a wonderful staple in our diets, but the variety really does make all the difference. The Maris Peer is an excellent flavoured variety when harvested early and produces lots of tubers. Peer potatoes are best suited to boiling, for pairing with salads or using to make a tasty jacket potato.
- EASY TO PLANT: When planting in the ground, set your tubers 10 inches apart so they have space to grow; for planting in limited outdoor space at home, put 3 tubers in a 45-litre planting bag. Second Early varieties benefit from a nitrogenous fertiliser when you dig them up. Choose a place in the garden which has not been used to grow garlic, onions, shallots or leeks for at least two years. The soil should be well drained and fertilizer or manure can be added to the area to boost growth.
- SEED POTATOES FROM THE SEED POTATO EXPERTS: Before planting your seed potatoes, we recommend “chitting” – allowing the potatoes to sprout – 6 weeks beforehand. Once your tubers have started to sprout, they are ready to be planted ahead of a delicious harvest. Keep your seed potatoes out of extreme weather conditions and temperature changes prior to planting to ensure strong potatoes. Dunk each tuber in water prior to planting. Suitable for baking, boiling, roasting, mashing and chipping
- FROM THE GROUND UPWARDS – SEED POTATOES GROWN IN SCOTLAND SINCE 1895: Jamieson Brothers were established in 1895 where we began selling our potatoes in 50kg bags on a horse and cart. Our seed potatoes are UK grown and still hand sorted in Scotland. From seed to plate, Jamieson Brothers sees the seed potatoes through the entire harvest. We ship to your doorstep so you can enjoy growing seed potatoes in your home, allotment, or farm.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can I store the remainder of the seed potatoes until next year?**
A: Not sure about this. Our crop was not very successful! We grew them in some fabric potato growing bags and unfortunately were only able to harvest about half a kilo of tiny potatoes. Don't know whether it was something to do with the seed potatoes themselves, or we had done something wrong. Either way we won't be trying these again!

**Q: I planted mine about 5 weeks ago in my greenhouse, they are already flowering & about 25-30inches tall - surely i will be able to harvest before xmas?**
A: I think you have planted untreated tubers normally these tubers for a Xmas crop are held in cold storage for planting about now for a Xmas crop. Sounds as if yours are almost ready to harvest.wait till they have flowered and the foliage has started to die, harvest and enjoy, but not I am afraid at xmas

**Q: If I plant them know how long do I need to wait for potatoes to be ready**
A: 13-15 weeks in a frost free environment.

**Q: Do you plant these whole, without chiting?**
A: You plant them with chits on as these make the leaves - if there are quite a few chits take a few off before planting
