This is an excellent little starter kit for those looking to do some costume work or light updating to items needing snaps. All the tools you need are in there and the color of the snaps are fun - bright gold down to burnished brass. The snaps themselves are nice but do heed the directions when they say don't pound too hard. I used a mallet and hammer, but I recommend the mallet. The snaps were very easy to install and looked great. My only concern is that the punch is not very sturdy and will bend with repeated use (I was doing a thin leather belt, my bad!). I do really like this kit and it did exactly what I needed it to do. Highly recommend for those getting into crafting or just want to add some snaps or style to their wardrobe.

Works very well

These are really good snaps, much better than the sets you can get at Walmart. They’re much stronger, a lot more durable and easier to snap/unsnap and the look MUCH nicer. The punch that comes with the set is nice as well. It’s vented so the little plugs of leather work their way out, instead of the Walmart kind that just plug shut and stop punching. I removed one star for the packaging, the pieces come in a plastic divider box, but 1) there are more components than available spots in the container, so some of them are mixed from the factory. 2) the container lid doesn’t close against the dividers so by the time it got to me ALL the components were mixed. I had to spend 45 minutes dumping the entire box out and separating the parts and re-boxing them appropriately. If you do not keep the box perfectly level this will all need to be done again as the lid will not keep things in place. Nothing is a bigger pain than having to dig for the tiny little part you need in the middle of a project. So, parts are fantastic, but they should take $5 off the price and just send them in plastic bags.

Great value! These little snaps are quite durable and are easy to install. All the tools and instructions you need come with the kit. I used them for leather bracelets and light weight fabrics.

Bought this kit to install a snap on my wife's purse. The shoulder strap end was so long that it would drag on the ground if she held the purse by the carry handles. So placing one snap at the end of the strap did the trick. Holds the straps against each other. GOOD: The instructions are very simple to follow and stay in the nice container that all of the snap pieces are in, along with the tools. Six different colors and the bronze was a good match to the hardware on her purse. Anvil and install tools easy to use and are also stored in the container. NOT SO GOOD: The punch tool was not useful. Not sharp enough to cut through leather. But not enough to remove a star in the rating. I just used a leather punch that I had on hand. I used a piece of vinyl on top of the anvil when punching so as not to dull the punch.

Snaps go on fine. However, they do not have much strength. I was going to use them to fasten pants at the waist, but they have no strength to do that. I would mostly use these as a decorative fastener on a purse or maybe a pocket. Need to find something a lot stronger than this…

If you are looking for snaps to use with the big green Kam Snaps snap setting tool and size 20 snap dies…these work!!! Kam snaps says the size 20 snaps they sell are 12 mm. These snaps say they are 12.5 mm so I honestly didn’t know if they would work. I was looking for a lower cost option for metal snaps so decided to take a chance. Great news…they worked just fine. As I could not find anything out there about whether or not these would work I wanted to do all those out there, like myself, a favor and let you know they do!!!. Great variety and price…I am psyched!
