Exceptional value!
I recently compared many for the best-rated, sub-$700.00 binoculars available to me. The verdict? If money is no object, don't look lower than $1000.00 for great optics. If you are on a budget, value your dollars, or are just getting started with bird watching as a hobby, jump on the Athlon Midas binoculars! The widely disseminated Wirecutter review nails it. Optically, a good sample of the Midas binoculars performs as well as, or better than, many binoculars two to three times as expensive. Build and accessories are great as well. The only con I can see--and which I did NOT experience myself--is that quality can vary across samples. This complaint is anecdotal at best though. The sample I received shipped promptly, was well-packaged, and was without issues or flaws. Do not hesitate to give these a try yourself! As an aside for those looking for a slightly more premium option, the GPO Spectra/Passion series are extraordinary. My wife claimed the Athlon Midas binoculars, so I bought the Spectra due to its lower price and availability over the Passion ED model. The included accessories, build and function exceed the Tract Toric (that I returned). The Spectra can be had for under $400.00, making them good value as well.

Don't buy the harness strap bundle
Binocular is great. But the Vortex harness strap it ships with in this bundle doesn't fit the strap attachment point. The instructions say to call if you need a narrower strap, and they give an 800 number. But calling that number just yields a response that there is no narrower strap. So the package is a waste of money. Just buy the binocular solo.
