Apalus Magnetic Screen Door, Mesh Curtain, Magnetic Top-to-Bottom Seal Snaps Shuts Automatically, Keep Fresh Air in

These are fantastic fly screens, I'm very much enjoying my first fly-free summer. The magnetic strips down the middle mean the curtain snaps straight back together when you walk through it, and stays closed. It's dead easy to install - just cut the supplied velcro to size and stick it around the outside of your door frame, then attach the curtain to it. It comes with pins too for extra strength, which I'm going to need because the velcro has pulled off from the frame slightly at the top where it meets in the middle. It also comes with velcro ties so you can tie it back overnight to let your cat get in his cat flap. I did order a white one but I swapped it for another black one as the black is much more transparent - the white is very bright and I kept thinking it was snowing. Black is sheer and unobtrusive. The cat and dog were baffled at first and sat outside it asking to come in, but 10 mins of training and they were walking through it like it wasn't there. Not only am I very much enjoying having the doors open and letting the fresh air in with no insects, I can also leave the doors open at night without letting mozzies or moths in. And no more fly larvae on the cat food! When autumn arrives, I'll just detatch the curtain and leave the velcro up for next year. Overall a brilliant product, very affordable and will reuse every year. Makes summer much more chilled when you're not plagued by buzzing/biting insects. Would recommend and would definitely buy again. Just need some for my windows now...

Erm, didn't think I could get excited by a fly screen, but perhaps I can! ultimately, in a nutshell, it does what it say's and it does it rather well. With it being White, it lets a lot of light through into the kitchen area. We bought one of these last year and liked it so much that we bought the same one again this year. The year before that (2 years ago) we tried a Black coloured fly screen. It didn't really snap together too well (although that could have been down to my inexperience in fitting at the time). The Black one also made it seem darker in the kitchen - gloomy really! So, it's well made and easily good enough really for the job. Expect to replace each year (in my opinion) because they do get grubby each time somebody (especially children!) goes through it with dirty hands or their shoes on. Replacement is very simple. remove the old, and the old adhesive tape. Hold the top of the fly screen above the door and make sure the bottom of the fly screen is just touching the door bottom (so no flies can fly in the house underneath it). Then use the adhesive velcro tape and cut a strip that fits across the top of the door. Stick it into position. Then fasten the velcro on the top of the screen to it. Now, keeping both halves of the fly screen closed (via the magnets), do the same with the adhesive tape down the left, then the right hand side of the door. then finally stick the screen side sections to the velcro strip. Give it a quick test. push the middle of the door screen to check it snaps back shut automatically without you needing to intervene. if it doesn't it'll be because you have the screen stretched too wide sideways. You don't want to do this. You need to make sure that there is no "stretching" or pulling of the screen to any side to make it fit.. allow it to work at it's normal tension and then you will find the magnets will do their job just fine. Once you are happy, they do also give you some nails with White plastic heads on. You can hammer those in around the edges of the screen to provide additional security. Overall, I am genuinely really happy with this and cannot fault it at all. I do like it so much that I've bought it again this year. It's easy to fit, lasts a full year (or more if you don't mind it being grubby), and keeps those flies out! Big thumbs up from me!

I am very impressed with both the product and the service provided. The fine mesh fly curtains arrive with the magnetic fastenings already sewn into the curtains so that all is required is to cut the roll of Velcro strip which is provided to the same sizes of the top and sides of the curtains which is straightforward. Once the Velcro strips have been attached to the door frame the curtains can be attached to them which again is very easy. The whole process took no more than 20 minutes to complete and the end result is a pair of perfectly fitted mesh curtains which are very secure, look good and most importantly do the job they are designed for - keeping out unwanted flies and bugs. The product looks and feels to be of far better quality and durability than previous insect curtains I have purchased from other companies and is also easier to install. The company even emailed me after delivery to offer more Velcro free of charge if I wanted it which was a very nice touch - as long as you measure the door frame correctly and order the correct curtain size you won't need any more Velcro than that provided with the order but it's nice to know it's available if necessary. I highly recommend this product and company.

This is a great product for keeping out those bugs and flys that we all hate coming into our homes. It’s a very easy concept: attach the Velcro strips around a door frame and stick this onto the Velcro. This in theory works great with plastic surfaces and wood. However the Velcro provided has a flimsy, poor adhesive backing that prevented it from adhering to the brick and mortar around my door frame. Initially I was going to give this item a 3 star for this reason but I must add that the customer service has been amazing. The seller immediately sent out a further roll of Velcro to help secure the item. I purchased stronger double sided tape (Monster) and attached it to the back of the seller’s Velcro. My, my...what a difference. The Velcro is now securely attached to the brickwork and the item works a treat. To be fair, at the top of my doorway, the velcro easily attached to the plastic PVC frame.

We live a small rental space in the forest and we really need to open the front door to get some light and fresh air in the apartment without letting in the mosquitoes and flies. This affordable and simple to install screen is a perfect fit (measured door frame before ordering) and we’re stoked! We have the breeze, the trees and no unwelcome bugs. We followed the instructions, cleaned the door frame (with a little rubbing alcohol) before attaching the adhesive strip, we didn’t need to use the included push pins, it’s holding great with 4 adults going through it. Good quality, arrived quickly as stated with Amazon Prime, a little weight at the bottom might help improve the closing but it’s not a problem.
