Deore BR-T610 V-Brakes - Black, 120 mm

It feels like v-brakes are a thing of the past, but if you're still riding any bike with them and you want top performance the big brands have moved along their top lines to disc brakes systems. I've owned many generations of Shimano V-brakes from Alvio to XTR. These modern Shimano Deore V-brakes lack the top end branding, but still inherit all of the years of Shimano engineering. These modern Deore V-brakes perform as well as older generation XTR v-brakes. Trickle-down technology rules. Great brakes for a great price. Easy to work on. Clean design.

I used it to replace the worn out unit on my Dahon Mu. It installed quickly and easily and works great. It provides very smooth, quiet and predictable braking. In fact it operates so much better than the old one that I ordered another Shimano Deore unit to replace the rear brake.

Upgrade for vintage hybrid bike with 700c wheels. Great performance. Much stronger braking. Very easy to install and set up. No noise and plenty of power at a bargain price.

When I purchased a Scott Metrix 30 hybrid bike, it came with a set of Tektro RX3 mini-V brakes. The brakes looked awesome with stainless silver finish. However, I felt the brakes were weak and slow at best. I had a few scary moments due to the limitation of the Tektro brakes. I returned to the bike shop at least twice to ask the mechanic to fix the brakes. He replaced the brake pads for free, but it didn't improve the braking power. From then on, I was always careful when riding my bike knowing the brakes were spongy and unreliable.Three years have passed, and I finally decided to replace the old Tektro brakes with Shimano Deore brakes. Good thing was that I could continue to use my old brake levers and cables. On my first ride after replacing the brakes, I was shocked to find out how much difference this set of Deore brakes could make. It was a night and day difference. I'm impressed with the "bite" of the new brakes. I can stop my bike instantly with a gentle squeeze of the brake levers. I'm now a happy camper with the new Deore brakes! For those of you looking for a budget hybrid bikes, many of these bikes come with affordable Tektro brakes. Don't hesitate in spending 38 dollars for upgrading your bike. I'm sure your safety is worth much more than $38.

Absolutely great brake, easy to adjust and install and excellent stopping power. Replaced cheap brakes that came with the bike.

These calipers are intended to be mounted on 24mm studs. Most direct pull brakes fit 16mm studs. The product description does not state the required stud length.Perhaps this is a “road” vs. “MTB” usage? I could not find any details on stud length on the web. Still, the product description should include this info.

The difference between these brakes and the brakes I was using (that usually come with a new bike) is night and day. The Shimano brakes center and adjust better. The spring tension on them is excellent and they stop the bike almost immediately. They are about the same price as the other ones I was using I will never go back to. If you want to build a nice bike for yourself, go with Shimano parts like this.

Bought this to replace a tired, slightly bent front Tektro unit which came on a secondhand Islabike.It was straight forward to fit and adjust and after a day or so of initial bedding in, my son reported the brake felt "alot stoppier" :)

I initially purchased a set of Rujoi V-brakes for my 23 year old MTB. Cantilevers just don't brake with the newer brake levers. The 1st Rujoi set had a broken positioning pin. The 2nd set was holding loosely on the fork. Simply put, these V-brakes are well worth the money. Solidly built, they fit perfectly and solidly in place, the nuts come with loc-tite on them... I can now do stoppies again with full confidence.I am sure that these are the last brakes I'm buying for this bike.

Ich habe die Deore Bremse für Vorne und Hinten bestellt (120mm und 140mm stand dabei). Den Unterschied sehe ich allerdings nicht, auch konnte ich keinen Unterschied messen. Beides passt auch jeweils vorn und hinten, zumindest bei meinem Rad. Auch die Kabelführung hat keinen unterschiedlichen Winkel. Lediglich auf der Verpackung war eine unterschiedliche Beschriftung. Da der Preis gleich war, ist das aber auch egal.Ich habe mein Tern Faltrad damit bestückt. Wie bei vielen anderen Nutzern auch (Bereich Faltrad, BMX und Mountainbike), passen diese nicht genau in die Canti-Aufnahme. Es lässt sich aber trotzdem einbauen und funktioniert auch. Sie gucken halt ein wenig über (ca.1-2mm). Eine Funktionsminderung konnte ich nicht feststellen.Schrauben für die Canti-Aufnahme (müssten 6mm sein) sind dabei, allerdings in schwarz. Bremsbacken sind auch dabei. Bei den Bremsbacken lassen sich die Gummis wechseln. Hab ich noch nicht versucht, aber sie haben einen Splint, was dafür spricht.Insgesamt bin ich sehr zufrieden und würde die Bremse wieder kaufen.
