It has a distinct "double" frequency hum, almost like two pumps running at once, which makes sense given it's 2-3 times faster than anything else I've used. I'll take that trade every time. The built-in cooling fan makes the unit a bit bulky, so it's not really something you'd toss in a dry bag as a backup on the water. Two small gripes worth flagging: 1. It doesn't auto-stop during deflation, so you have to babysit that part. 2. The single USB-C port is in/out, which means if you plug it into your car and then shut off the engine, it starts discharging into the car. My battery pack with a single USB-C port doesn't do this. Not a dealbreaker for me since my 1.5 hour trips give it plenty of time to recharge after inflating and deflating two boards, but worth knowing.
