I also have a 100 lb dog but her paws are too big for this kit. I’d say this is good for 60 lb dogs or less, MAYBE heavier but it depends on the size of your dog’s paws. The ink pad is SMALLER than the pages given! So don’t look at the page and think it can fit the paw of a giant dog. Clearly it does better with more weight, so lighter animals paws won’t show up as well. You can get multiple uses out of one ink pad, but basically the ink is evenly spread on a thin plastic sheet reminiscent of cling wrap. So when you take a paw print, ink comes off. I’m including a picture to show how you can see the ink after taking a paw print. Honestly, this is pretty good at taking paw prints. It’s not great, but I’m still giving this product 5 stars for now as I haven’t tried other products to compare it to and it got the job done! I can always have the tattoo artist modify light paw prints to make them higher contrast and remove fur between toe pads if I want. Very happy with my purchase. You don't even have to get ink on his paw. You press down on the back side of the ink pad into the provided sheets of paper.
