Good raincoat. Very pleased. Keeping it.
I am 5'7', 160 pounds. I was reluctant to buy the coat because I struggled to decide if I should get a small or a medium. Also, some of the reviewers said the coat was oily and needed to hang outside for a while, and some said the snaps were dodgy.Discussed it with a family member and finally pulled the trigger. I bought a medium because I will probably wear something underneath it.Was nervous, because buying clothes without trying on is risky.Got the coat and was very pleased with my purchase. It is NOT oily, so that was good. The length is good for a 5'7' person (I contemplated the other coat that was 3" longer) so that is good. The snaps were intact and working properly, so that was good. And, most importantly, I like the fit. I will be able to layer in the rain, and use the coat in cooler weather. So I am very pleased with the purchase.

Absolutely love!
I live in the Pacific Northwest and spend a lot of time outdoors caring for my horses. This waterproof coat is the best! There are lots of waterproof coats available but I was specifically looking for a long coat that would keep my legs dry and warm. Shorter coats drip water down onto my legs. The lower part of my body gets soaked while doing chores. This coat is perfect for someone looking to keep their entire body dry while in the rain!

Looks, fits, and works well
This jacket is great for keeping rain and wetness off while looking good. So far, it's really durable and it's really great for for the summer season. However, in the fall months can be a little chilly. I wish that it had a thicker , removable lining. Nothing a light jacket underneath won't fix. Thus the 4 stars

Oil Skin Duster-Very Useful and Good Buy
Excellent Duster/Jacket/Raincoat. It repels the rain. It can keep you warm, but not like a layered jacket with down in or anything. I am 6'0" and 170 lbs. 31 waist in jeans. I ordered a small because I know these jackets can run large. I ordered small and it is a good fit. A little bit of room for layers. No more than long sleeve thermal with a lumberjack shirt over it and then the Duster. If you want to wear a thermal, lumberjack shirt, sweater or sweat shirt, you will probably want to purchase a medium for my height and weight. Sweater and or a sweat shirt will be too bulky with a small Duster. I generally only wear a undershirt and lumberjack shirt when wearing the Duster. The Duster does have a coating of oil. It is not wet to the touch or anything. The oil does not make the Duster smell and the coating/oil does not rub off as some people have stated in other reviews. It feels like a coat that has protective coating on it. It does not make the Duster stiff or anything. The Duster material might seem rough to some people. It is the same as all work jackets with hoodies. The shoulders do come off. So if you want a Duster that looks less "cowboy", you can remove them. The Duster hits just below my knees in terms of length.

LOVE. THIS. COAT.
Cant say enough good things about this coat. I received yesterday along with the Bootlegger hat. Received on time and I should mention, just in time out here in Worcester County, MA, where we had another strange storm or as we call it, a wintry mix, which means heavy sleet, snow and freezing rains, accompanied by unpredictable winds. One thing I noticed right away is the heft of the coat and while it did take a few minutes to figure out the buttons, it was as if I was wrapped in an oilskin cocoon. The rain just doesn't get in, regardless of how hard its blowing, regardless of how nasty the sleet is. buttoned up all the way and secure under the hat, I was pretty much impervious to the elements. I will likely get the liner in the near future, but overall, I was pretty warm under the skin.Price - about what I expected to pay - locally at a Cabellas, this ran for 160-180...paying instead 124, I was happy. Normally I never buy a lot of clothing online because I prefer to see it up close first, but the lack of availability here in the Northeast (its just not cowboy country) prompted me to go the Amazon route and I couldn't be happier. This is a very unique coat and like the hat, if you're in a region that isn't used to the whole country look, you will get some stares and confused faces, but once you get past that, you realize you're wearing something that is not only an awesome looking garment, but one that is weatherproof - I'd much rather wear this than a PCoat or rain coat - its just that cool.Adding to the cool factor is its ruggedness. While not something one would wear as formal wear, its definitely going to be at home in my truck as an all purpose garment. I work in construction and can easily see this working on job sites in the rain and snow - its just that good.I read a lot of complaints about the coat having a smell to it and there's a faint, almost leatherlike smell to it - personally, I dig it.The pockets are generous and many and again, once you get used to the buttons, its a pretty weatherproof affair that you'll see the value in immediately.I plan to probably buy another one as well as their shorter length coats.
