3 PRS Southern Seas Mens Womens Folding Reading & Travel Glasses w CaseIt was difficult to compare all of the folding reader offerings that had real glass lenses, as not all of the vendors clearly disclose the lens composition - even when they are glass. In those cases, the customer is left to read through all of the questions and reviews hoping to find that information.I finally found these Southern Seas folding readers and decided to order them (+2.50 strength) due to the overwhelmingly positive reviews. The first thing I noticed is they are not as heavy as expected. They don't feel heavy in the hand and I can wear them for many hours without discomfort. Just as important, the lens are clear, seem to be ground to the correct strength and there is no noticeable distortion. (That has been an issue with other glass readers I have ordered.)The zippered case is semi-rigid, and will protect the glasses under normal circumstances. And, each case comes with a cleaning cloth. I've constantly carried a pair of these glasses in my pants pocket for the past 6 months with only one issue. In that incident, the case was in my pocket and was squeezed between my leg and a too-low steering wheel as I exited my car. My hands were full and quite a bit of force was used to pull my leg out so I expected the readers to be destroyed. I was quite happy to find there was no lasting damage and I only needed to pop one of the lens back into the frame.As other reviewers have noted, the need to fold the readers and then zipper them up in the case can sometimes be inconvenient. However, that's simply the trade-off for the convenience of carrying folding readers. Some reviewers prefer readers with telescoping rather than folding arms. I found the telescoping arms to be very uncomfortable, as they cannot be bent or manipulated in any way due to the telescoping action. Also, the telescoping arms I tried tended to be loose and too short for my head. (I suppose they would be fine if you only need to occasionally read a label.)The only fault I can find with these glasses is that every few weeks I need to slightly bend the arms back to being parallel so they are snug on my head. But I have a large head and these are inexpensive readers so I cannot complain.Overall opinion: ExcellentI have recommended these readers to family, friends and acquaintances.

There is a saying, quality, quantity, and price... pick two of the three...Wow...I was not expecting this quality and quantity for this price... I'm always looking for glasses, and I break them and lose them too. As an alternative to buying prescriptions at the local CVS pharmacy where I get quality, but the price is high, I looked at this as a low-cost purchase, and I wondered if this item would fall apart in my hands because of the price and because they are foldable glasses... Again, Wow! I was not expecting such craftsmanship, design, and quality with the glasses and the case that they come in. I am really happy about this purchase. The lenses are excellent, the glasses are comfortable and fold easily. I think the quality is top-notch. In just a few days, I've had several comments that these glasses look good on me. For less than the cost of one pair at my local pharmacy, I now have three pairs (office, home, travel bag), and it comes in a nice protective case. I definitely recommend this product. These reading glasses far exceeded my expectations in every category. I'm wearing them right now as I write this.These are excellent quality GLASS lenses, and though they fold down to a very convenient small size, they are nevertheless sturdy eyeglasses.The carry case is sturdy too and easily fits in a shirt or pant pocket. The seller even includes a cleaning cloth.One pair is easily worth the asking price but you get three pair for the price.After receiving these, I returned a pair of Foster Grant foldable readers I bought at a drugstore about two weeks ago. These are much better in every regard and the three pair ordered through Amazon cost much less than the single pair of Foster Grant glasses.Great glasses, great deal!

Ok, so it took forever to arrive, not surprising with it coming from the other side of the planet, but I wonder how much more it would cost to ship it a little more quickly.Apart from that, two of the three glasses arrived clear. The third one, however, had some cloudiness on both lenses making them pretty much useless unless I wanted to deal with peering through the stuff. It couldn't be wiped off either.But as for them being compact, they certainly are and get the job done when you suddenly find yourself without your prescription glasses.

They are very convenient and fold up nicely. The problem I have had is that the lenses pop out of the frames a bit easy and one of the pairs arrived with a bent temple. I have been able to pop the lens back in place each time and the bent temple is only something I "see" and it does not affect my wearing of the glasses. I very much like how compact they fold up and the carrying cases are great. Fantastic bargain compared to all the plastic models you find in the stores.

These glasses are a true bargain. I own a pair of folding Foster Grants, which cost $25 at the drugstore, and these glasses, at less than $6 a pair, are far superior. The look, design and craftsmanship are top notch. The case is a little bulky but will fit into your pocket. I ordered a second set as I have already given away two pairs to friends who wanted one after seeing mine.

A good price. I don't use the case. I stick them in my pocket and they last about 3-4 months before the arms loosen and won't stay on my face. I have bought them a few times as I like the convenience and for the price, it's not too painful to replace.

Not bad for the price. Works well to have extra readers that are more compact. Case is pretty sturdy.
