We took it slow and steady with the kit and she was able to learn that she has not got Lymes. ### ⭐ Lyme test *by M***B on 29 March 2026* Does not work I'm giving 1 star only because you have to give at lease 1 star to give rating ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Testing for Lyme Disease is often of limited benefit. Instructions are fine but don't test too soon! *by A***E on 28 May 2024* Lyme disease testing is often of limited benefit and if there is significant concern, especially in the presence of the typical rash (which never develops in about 20-25% of people) then medical attention and possibly treatment may be indicated without any testing, which can be done later. In my opinion the instructions are fine apart from the fact that they do not mention the time it can take for antibodies (which this test detects) to develop. Following infection it takes at least 2 weeks, often 4-6 weeks and occasionally even 8 weeks for antibodies to develop. Also due to this test being designed for 'professional use' the instructions also don't explain the relevance of IgG and IgM. IgG shows recent infection but starts to decline after 6-8 weeks. IgM takes longer to develop but generally then lasts years. A positive IgM but a negative IgG at 4-6 weeks would suggest a previous, not current, infection. Perhaps sounds a bit complicated if not familiar with such matters. I hope not to need this but the expiry date is almost 2 years from now so might well get used either personally or for others. Results are likely to be reliable if used correctly.
