Practical, accessible, beautiful
This book is a wonderful place to start for anyone interested in mindfulness with children. Presented in an informative yet not at all patronising way it touches on aspects of science & evidence-based research but primarily serves as a practical guide to introducing children to mindfulness. The book contains several exercises covering different aspects of a mindfulness way of being that I can imagine incorporating into a classroom setting and with children at home. A Recommended read!

In mind or out
Enjoyable, to the point, revealing and placing the child in mind. I think therefore I am not. Allow thoughts to flow through your mind just as a bird fly's through the sky and disappears into the distance.

Like this alot. Very accessible for the beginner to meditation, who would like to introduce this to her children. Lots of straight forward ideas for how to get started and ways to move on from there.

Maybe if I had been more mindful at the start
An interesting book with some nice ideas but little information on how I can actually help my child be more mindful. I picked this book up with a pile of others when I realised I was lost, moving at breakneck but getting nowhere and worse that I was dragging my 4 year old with me, maybe if I'd practiced mindfulness first I could have focused look enough the find the wisdom in this book, as it was I picked it up about a year ago, abandoned it twice and only just finished having forgot the start. This book can help deepen exciting knowledge but is not a good starting point.

excellent resource
This would be a great resource for families, educators, therapists, coaches....anyone! The child is considered, and then the book is a well prepared resource.

Amazing, must have book for anyone teaching mindfulness to kids (and adults)
I found this book to be truly amazing. As both a psychotherapist (working with children, adolescents, and adults) and yoga teacher, I have utilized ideas from this book almost daily. It has even helped to deepen my own practice even though I do not have children of my own. I have shared ideas from this book from a number of colleagues and some of them have purchased it that same day. I believe Greenland shares something we are all searching for, whether we are psychotherapists, parents, teachers, yoga teachers, or people wanting to improve our own mindfulness/meditation practice in a playful way. It has proved to be one of the most valuable tools in my psychotherapy toolbox. I am grateful for Greenland sharing her wealth of knowledge and research.

You need to have some notions on meditation and mindfulness.
I started reading this book. Initially it looked very promising, but I got kind of impatient. I bought this book thinking it was a parenting book, I did not know what "mindful" meant (well English is a second language for me). I still was enthusiastic when I started reading with the prospect to learn some stress-reducing practices. But it seems that you need to take yoga or mindfulness classes yourself or practice with some friends to be able to teach your children. Moreover, the book keeps talking about meditation without defining it. Half way down the book, I still don't know what meditation really means. I would recommend this book to parents who already practice mindfulness.
