Wait, I know why, I've had my car since 2003 and back then, videos on youtube for the DIYer was still in it's infancy! The original boot was some sort of pleather and started to disintegrate probably 15 or more years ago. Recently, I got myself into a rabbit hole looking at VW Golf vids on how to take apart the interior door handle on the driver side and found a vid on how to replace this boot cover and there was a link provided to this very product, now I have a brand new leather boot cover and I'm so happy with it. Thank goodness for technology =)

I don't know why I never thought to replace the old boot cover. Wait, I know why, I've had my car since 2003 and back then, videos on youtube for the DIYer was still in it's infancy! The original boot was some sort of pleather and started to disintegrate probably 15 or more years ago. Recently, I got myself into a rabbit hole looking at VW Golf vids on how to take apart the interior door handle on the driver side and found a vid on how to replace this boot cover and there was a link provided to this very product, now I have a brand new leather boot cover and I'm so happy with it. Thank goodness for technology =)
