Every Move You Make: THE NUMBER ONE BESTSELLER. A new gripping psychological thriller for 2024 from the Sunday Times and multimillion copy best-selling author of The Guilty Couple : Taylor, C.L.: desertcart.ae: Books Review: Having read, and reviewed, C.L.Taylor’s latest novel: ‘It’s Always’ The Husband’ I was drawn to this - her previous work this novel: ‘Every Move You Make’. So, what did I think? The book deals with stalking & stalkers and neither is nice; to say the least. As I read it initially it didn’t grab me as much as the other did, but as I read on I began to wonder about her - the author’s - research into the subject; I found myself thinking: this comes across/reads as a personal experience! Could it be; could it be . . . On finishing the book I read the ‘Author’s Note’ and immediately realised that I was right: It is based on a real life experience, but with fictionalized events. The note begins: ‘Fifteen years ago, I was stalked for several months by my controlling and coercive ex-boyfriend. . .’ In a nutshell that’s how good this book is; it really captures the essence of what it must be like to be ‘stalked’; the victim of a stalker; not a pleasant experience by any stretch of the imagination. The characters comprise of 5 friends - three female & one male - whose friendship has come about as a result of a common experience: they are all been stalked; Of the five - Natalie - is murdered on her on doorstep by her stalker (this is not a spoiler as it happens early on in the story) this results in an ever increasing level of fear in the others who form a WhatsApp group; initially titled ‘F***You Stalker Twats’ which they reduced to the acronym ‘FYST”, to maintain contact with each other and to try rid themselves of their respective stalkers. . . Having received a threat that one of them will die in 10 days time most chapters deals with movements/activities of one character: Lucy - Alexandra - River or Bridget with a sub heading noting the number of days remaining before the threat is carried out! This is an excellent read with multiple twists and turns leading you up the garden path - as the saying goes. I expect that, like myself, when you reach the conclusion you will every bit as surprised as I was. C.L.Taylor is definitely a master of the psychological thriller. If such thrillers are your bag; your choice you won’t go wrong with this one. Recommended. Bill Brady Review: Gifted to my daughter. Great gift. Shipping was fast and convenient.

Pay the few extra dollars and get a new book. Mine had some pages ripped out, and some pages folded over.Black ink or something on quite a few of the pages and it looked like it had been dipped in some liquid because the bottom of the pages were water damaged

Wanted to really like this book as I was aware the author had been a victim of stalking and was interested in their fictional perspective. A decent read overall but a little silly in parts and I guessed fairly early on which of the group was ‘involved’ though not the final twist. Would say I enjoyed reading but wouldn’t rush to recommend, sorry.

Ooft the opening chapter! A whatsapp group of people - all joined together by one thing, being survivors of stalkers. When the unthinkable happens to one of them the group feel they need to take matters into their own hands. Pinging between messages in the Whatsapp group to happenings in their actual lives we follow the four, Alexandra, Lucy, Bridget, River as they try to take back control and their lives before their stalker(s) strike. A murder, horrific stalkers, secrets, lies, coercion, gaslighting, the horrible feeling of being stalked, watched, cat and mouse. A constant threat looming and they are all potential targets, I did like the way the book kept you guessing but I also got frustrated and screamed NOOOOOOOO WHAT ARE YOU DOING a few times. Don't do that, oh no why why why. It is pretty shocking and eye opening, I think when you read the end note from the author about her experiences and know the book is written by someone who went through some of this it hits different. Claustrophic and eerie at parts, you are kept intrigued/hooked and even shocked at parts, 4/5 from me.
