Bonk: The Fast Rolling Ricochet Game

I bought this to keep at my house when the grandsons come over. These boys age 9 and 13 have dozens of great board games and an x box. They are minecraft addicts. BUT, they loved this game. Actually the 9 year old developed an entirely different game from the original. After he discovered that he could beat grandma easily every time, he created a game that I could do better on. He did away with the ramps and placed balls in the hole where they fit. Then he put a marble in the middle. He and I played this game for hours and had a wonderful experience. The idea of his game was to knock both of your opponents balls out of the holes. We launched from the top of the space between the two sides until all the balls were in play. he developed an elaborate game where after each 5 games you removed a ball from the board. If there were an odd number we would place one of the balls in the center. I watched a couple of videos on how to play before we started. That really helped to understand the ins and outs of Bonk.

Endless fun for all ages! Entire family loved every minute of playing. Teams, one on one, you name it we played it. The high fiving to start is a little weird so we just put our hands on the table and someone says 1.2.3 BONK. We couldn’t stop playing. So much fun! This will be a classic in your collection. Enjoy!

This is advertised as a game for 2-4 players and it sounded like fun for my me and my son. It turns out that is really, really difficult to play both chutes from one side and the game ends in like 15 seconds if you only play one chute. To get the full effect of the game, you need 4 players which is why I gave it the low rating. We don't have 4 players in my house. Disappointing.

Very fun concept, not executed very well. The weight of the wooden ball is such that if hit by the small metal balls you're almost guaranteed to get a point. This is due to the slight slanting of the game board which does not allow the wooden ball to stop moving. If you get anywhere near your opponents goal the ball will roll in on its own. Granted, your opponent is trying to move ball back but making the wooden ball heavier with slow it down and taking out the slanting of the gameboard would make the game much more fun. We returned it 30 minutes after opening it.

My kids love to play this. Great for when they have friends over.
