This device is not oversized. The 'Y' design provides a balanced stroke with less effort because you are usually always making a pulling down motion. The more flat the object is that you work with the faster you can get it peeled, because the blade is straight, the more rounded shapes take more strokes. The blade is sharp enough, although some thick and/or tough skinned items may need a small knife slice opening to get an easier start on the peel.
