Very useful product
Ruptured my sagittal band on my right middle finger. Consequently, it needed to be supported while I was waiting for an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon (a month out.) Online searches informed me I needed a "Yoke Splint" to limit movement in that digit. This product worked great for that. Simply put it in 105 degree water for 30 seconds. It becomes quite floppy and shapeable. You are then able to form it (in my case, around fingers on either side of the damaged one to form a "hammock" of sorts.) Within a minute the fabric hardens and retains the shape. Not comfortable? Not a problem. Toss it back into the water bath and reform it as often as needed to get the perfect shape. In my case I found it incredibly easy to both use and form to shape. The bad news is, it's incredibly expensive for this heat-activated thermoplastic material. But, on the other hand, having this to partially immobilize that finger meant that my sagittal band was able to heal on its own in 6 weeks rather than having to resort to open surgery to stitch that band to hold the tendon in its proper place. You can't put a price on NOT having to have invasive surgery. Worth every penny IMHO.

Great for the use
My buddy had a problem with his hand not correcting itself in the right way after a welding incident. This helped keep his thumb in the correct position so that he ccould continue to work. I could recommend it for that alone!

Excellent splinting material for fingers..
Have used this material before. I am an occupational therapist and certified hand therapist. Love this material for fingers. Will cut it down width wise to make smaller splints. Will double it up to make stronger splints. The thermoplastics and rubber based materials, while excellent, for some splints aren't as easy to work with as this material.
