Solid and well made, it just works. Oh, and go watch the company's vids, they're fun. :-)
The item finally came in after being lost in the shipping system for a while. It feels solid and well made, easy to use, and no issues with the painted finish so far. It definitely feels like an heirloom item, an investment instead of a purchase with a countdown to replacement. We've popped a few batches now and it just works every time. Nearly every kernel popped and tastes great. Easy to disassemble and clean.

Excellent popper
We’ve had this for about a year, and we LOVE it! It is so easy to use, and makes the BEST popcorn. Also, very easy to clean. We’ve had other stove top poppers, and this one blows them alway.

It's expensive, but I really like it and it's worth it to me, but...
So I love the construction, no sharp edges to cut me like the whirly pop, I love how it works (much better than the whirly pop, IMHO). But as others have commented, the enamel is flawed. Mine is not really bad as some have been, but there are a couple places where the enamel is chipped. That's why I gave it four stars. On how it works, the stirrer works very smoothly; I really like how the crank is on the top rather than in the handle. The weight is very manageable without being flimsy. And it cleans up very easily, all parts come apart. The popcorn pops flawlessly in it; and it definitely works on induction. One warning: make sure the paddle is positioned so it won't come out when you pour the popcorn out of the popper. I did that once. It's wasn't a catastrophe, but it was a learning experience. I'm very, very happy with it. And I use clarified butter when I pop my popcorn. None of that fake stuff.

Expensive disappointment - popcorn like cardboard with burned taste
I bought this Popsmith Popcorn Popper in Mint, paying a premium price for what looked like a quality product built like a tank. I thought it would last a lifetime and produce great popcorn. Unfortunately, it was a complete disappointment. I tried it today following the manufacturer's directions exactly. The resulting popcorn was like extremely tough cardboard with a vaguely burned taste - completely inedible. There were also lots of unpopped kernels left in the bottom. For the price point of this popper, the results are unacceptable. A simple air popper produces far better popcorn at a fraction of the cost. The build quality may be solid, but that doesn't matter if it can't perform its basic function of making edible popcorn. I'm returning this and replacing it with an air popper. I give it 1 star, and if I could give less, I would. Save your money and buy a basic air popper instead - you'll get much better results.

High End
Literally, my first batch, all of the kernels popped but two! This is a premium pan with a more reliable mechanical crank system. Yes, it was overpriced, but it is in fact high quality which you can see and feel, so I am not mad. I tried the Whirly Pop stainless steel pan, but it did not work on my induction stove. Yes, the Whirly Pop couldn't even get my stove to turn on. This high end pan worked perfectly on my induction stove.

Not the best but it works
It works ok but when you turn the handle the rods inside slip off very easily and it's hard to get them back on after it's been heated up and the popcorn is popping. Great idea but needs more work. When it does work the popcorn is cooked to perfection.

Just buy it.
If I could give this more than five stars I would. I bought this as a replacement for our second Whirley Pop popcorn maker. We love the Whirley Pop and have used that brand for many years but after a while it needs to be replaced. My husband has been watching this popcorn popper for a long time, but because of the price we hesitated to buy it. DO NOT HESITATE. You won’t regret it. It is so pretty to look at and the handle turns smoothly. It is truly a beautiful pot. I wish it came in more colors but we are happy with the cream color we chose.

Disappointed
I am a homemade popcorn addict and was really excited to receive mine. It is gorgeous, and it gives me no pleasure to report that I am VERY disappointed with it. The main problem is that the popcorn does not come out nearly as crisp and it does with my usual method, which involves a pot covered with a sheet of heavy duty foil in which I poke some holes. My suspicion is that the design of the popsmith does not allow enough venting and the retained steam affects the texture negatively. An second issue, which is annoying but would not be a deal breaker, is that the mechanism inside the pot for stirring the popcorn makes it really hard to get all that good salty oil out at the end and get it into the bowl. I will most likely return it.
