RollerCoaster Tycoon Deluxe: RollerCoaster Tycoon / Loopy Landscapes / Corkscrew Follies

Really fun game, spent hours playing.

I bought this many years ago. Jusy getting arund to writing the review now. I was sent the RollerCoaster Tycoon Gold Collection instead of the Rollercoaster Tycoon Deluxe edition that I bought. They are both essentially the same game with some minor differences. Such as the whole game being on one disk instead of 2 or 3, along with a lot of custom created content already preloaded onto the disk. Those things might not be such a big deal for others. But those minor differences is why I bought the Deluxe Edition instead of the Gold Edition. But was given the Gold Edition. Gome worked fine and as intended. Just didn't get what I orded. Like I said this was many many years ago. 2011 or 2012 I believe. Maybe the seller got a lot better since then. But still not a bad product if that is what your looking for.

What a fun surprise this turned out to be. I had this game years ago when it first came out on Win95 and now i have it again for XP. Works just fine on XP, no crashes (except for the rides) This game lets you become a park designer and opperator. you do it all, from hiring and firing of staff to building the ultimate ride of your liking and then watching the guest puke as they get off. it's all here I did have one LITTLE problem: when i exted the game my mouse didn't work right. right clicking on the mouse cleared it all up and all went well. I think this game might be a little frustrating if you don't have the patience and i don't recomend this for small kids as it will do better in the hands of us older kids....errr...adults :-)

I loved Rollercoaster Tycoon. I bought all of the first games as they came out one by one. Before they were stolen I owned an original RCT, Loopy Landscapes, and Corkscrew Follies disk. The game came in this weird sort of cardboard sleeve that slides over the jewel case. This will inevitably be ripped and damage, and then you'll have only a jewel case with black and white graphics on it. How important that is to you is up in the air. There's one major, major flaw with RCT Deluxe, and that will require a little bit of RCT history. There's a fantastic fan patch called Drexler that lets you run custom scenarios. A fan created the "sandbox mode" that some of us wanted. A big, green space with nearly unlimited money. It made custom scenarios in Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 possible. The Drexler patch will NOT work with RCT Deluxe. The last few patches made to the game (and this disk has all of the latest patches) were made solely to obfuscate code further and make it more difficult for stuff like Drexler to happen. Drexler was never updated after these last few patches. If you care about being able to do custom games in Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 - if you care about modding and stuff like that - this is not the game to buy. Try to find an older copy compatible with Drexler. Chris Sawyer (the creator of RCT) said that he "didn't intend" for us to play with a sandbox mode. I (and many other gamers) say that we'll figure out how we want to play our games, thank you very much. I'd have very much liked to see how he would have handled the even greater and more expansive modding community of today. Go ride a Powered Launch off the tracks, Chris. :P

I purchased the RollerCoaster Tycoon Deluxe (Jewel Case) which says that it comes with the original game along with corkscrew follies and loopy landscapes. Instead I paid 30 dollars to receive only the original version which is less then $10. This is the first time I have used Amazon and probably the last after I send the game back.

I’ve owned many copies of this game since my childhood as they get destroyed or lost throughout the years. Just purchased it and I am so happy to have gotten my hands on it again as it is nearly extinct now in its physical form and the value of it is skyrocketing everywhere else.

I installed this game on a Dell XPS running Windows XP. This game caused various applications (web browser, online game, e-mail) to freeze and need to be closed. These problems ceased when I uninstalled the game. This version of Rollercoaster Tycoon did not originally run on windows xp. Apparently there has been a fix applied to get it to run on win xp. It did not work for me.

I love these three games more then RC2 and 3. I was so disappointed when the computer systems got so advanced that the original versions I purchased years ago no longer worked. When I saw this one, I jumped at the opportunity to purchase it and I've been playing every day! Colorful, fun, not complicated or stressful. Good for young and old (and middle aged like me). I totally recommend this!
