Great kit to do it yourself.
This amazing tool helped me when I couldn't find anyone in the area to terminate Ethernet cables. This little kit came with everything you need to do it yourself. The instructions are clear and it was easy, even though I had never done it before. If you're new to this, like I was, grab an old cable and practice on it. Tester worked great also.

Great for diy or making a few connections.
I've used this to make over a hundred crimps so far. It's easy to use and the diagram on the side is nice. The tester that comes with it is handy for diy but not the best tester, will let you know if you mis matched wires or a connection is bad but doesn't transmit data speeds and such. For the price is worth it. The tool itself is decent quality and seems pretty durable.

Everything you need in one kit!
Came with everything! This is my first time using pass through and man, it's a game changer. I did a few terminations so far and it's so easy to use. The tester works - I intentionally messed up some terminations to test. It's pretty basic though - you'd probably want a more fancy tester if you're doing this serious! One thing that's annoying is the battery connector in the tester is not glued/screwed down to the case, and I couldn't get the battery to stay in place easily. It kept moving around when trying to use, causing it to lose power. One of the product images in the packaging shows the connector loose, so I guess that's intentional. Maybe I'm using it wrong. I will add a photo when I can. Eventually I just stuck something inside to avoid the battery from moving around. Probably best to remove the battery if you're not going to be using the tester for a while. Reminder that you'll need to buy a 9v battery separately. Overall this kit is well worth the price.

Awesome toolkit, awesome value
Really useful for when you’re installing ethernet at home, or just making an RJ45 cable. The RJ45 connectors it includes are pass-through, so crimping is easy and not a pain. The cut/crimp also comes out nice and perfect, haven’t made any major errors yet. It also includes other useful tools like a cable cutter, and a wire tester (although I haven’t used it yet since I lack the batteries it needs).

It works, once you get the hang of it
The tool does a fine crimping job. My only complaint about the tool itself is the built in stripper (which strips the outer sheath from the cable - individual wires are not stripped) - you have to use some finesse or it cuts too deep and nicks some of the wires inside, which then tend to break while you're manipulating them into the connector. The provided connectors are fairly difficult to use at first. The wires in CAT5 cable are solid copper twisted into pairs, which means the individual wires have a helical twist and must be straightened out or they won't go into the connector. Then you insert the wires, one by one, into the connector - making sure you get the order right. The wires go all the way through the connector and stick out the "front" until you crimp - the crimper has a blade that shears them all off as you crimp. This is different from the connectors on store bought ethernet cables, which do not have the wires going all the way through. But it seems to work fine. It took me three tries to install my first connector, but it went better after that. So this is a tool that has a learning curve associated with it. If you're patient and have a bit of dexterity you can use this tool with some practice. Otherwise get the high school kid next door to do the job for you.

Massive waste of time.
Things seemed great at first; I used this to terminate 4 different drops. Everything tested great, yet I had a lot of unexplained issues; when plugged into junctions and wall plates I would sometimes get tests saying the first pair failed continuity, despite the junction and cable itself testing fine. After wiring everything up, I couldn't establish a connection; my router and computer never were able to negotiate speeds. I was seriously at my wit's end and spend many hours debugging every single inch of cable in the runs. After reading some reviews here with similar stories of the first pair not getting crimped properly I threw in the towel and bought a Klein crimper, tester, and connectors and redid all of my work. It all works properly now, on the first try. It doesn't make sense to me how it was possible for this crimper to make cables that pass continuity checks (even with the Klein tester!) yet fail to pass data. Long story short: don't waste your time. I'll never get all of those hours back, and it was worth it to spend a little bit more to get the job done right the first time.
