Accurate
I set this a few days ago to Niagara International Airport weather (about 15 miles away) It did need to be adjusted out of the box since the altitude where it was made would be different than where you live. I checked it today and it is right on. If it varies, it only will vary slightly (one or two hundredths of an inch) probably due to the distance between it and the weather station I'm comparing it to (30.08 today ) and the lack of 100th markings. It only has marking for 1/10 of inches but it does look like 8/10ths of the way to the next mark.Aside from the accuracy, it is a nice looking piece of weather equipment. The adjustment is sensitive and it took me a couple of times to get it set right in line with the weather station. For accuracy you have to adjust it while it is vertical like it will be when it hangs on the wall. Like all barometers you do have to tap the glass to vibrate it to get it to move on to the current pressure. It does seem to be a precision piece of equipment. You can buy cheaper units but you'll get a less accurate barometer.

Accurate instrument and good quality for the price. Very pleased.
Quite pleased! I chose this one because I wanted both millibars (hectopascals) and inches mercury (Hg) shown, and they are both very clearly visible. This is a good quality, accurate barometer. I can only surmise that the negative reviews are due either to a failure to read the description (one purchaser was disappointed in the size, which is precisely as described) or a failure to follow the directions which are included. The barometer must be calibrated to the local conditions to be of use. I calibrated it the morning after it arrived. We happen to live less than two miles from a National Weather Service field office. The day I set the barometer we were under a high pressure system, but the pressure started falling that day. Over the following days it fell to a low (stormy) pressure, and is now high again, so I have been able to check for accuracy across a range of pressures. I checked it for accuracy against the NWS hourly report several times a day for the first couple of days, then at least once a day since, and it has remained working and accurate. Here are some suggestions:(1) The barometer arrives well-wrapped. In the box were two pages of instructions (one for barometer, the other for thermometer and hygrometer if yours includes those) and a very small booklet in several languages. Read the photocopied pages first, then read the booklet which will give directions for calibrating your barometer, using the off-centered brass screw on the back for which you will need a small flat-head screw driver. The easiest way to calibrate is to set it to the current barometric pressure of your local weather report. It does take a few minutes of turning it back and forth to read and find the correct pressure, but you can refine it as needed.(2) Hang it immediately afterwards, as movement can disrupt the calibration. As suggested, do not hang it near a heating or AC vent nor on an external wall. For added security we chose to use a cup hook and hang from the brass ring, but there is a way to hang it on a nail.(3) To read, tap the glass a couple of times. The pointer will likely move slightly. You can then set the brass pointer to match the barometer’s pointer. This way you can see what change there is.(4) Check it against a local report daily to determine if it is reading accurately or needs the calibration fine-tuned. Even when air pressure is holding steady, there is a very slight (~3 mb) diurnal variation, so it is best to read it at the same time daily. If you are having problems setting or operating your barometer there is a lot of good information, including videos, online.

Looks great, sturdy and accurate.
I’ve had this barometer for about a month. I calibrated it based on a NWS station at an airport which is only a few miles away. I’ve been keeping track of the two readings and the average difference from the NWS station has only been a little over 0.01 in. Hg.. So, the barometer is very accurate for my purposes. This barometer is sturdily made and looks great too.

Beautiful, Functional
Beautiful piece of craftsmanship and it really works! It does not move much day-to-day, but when Hurricane Ian blew through, it almost bottomed out! Great gift/purchase!

Very good barometer
I have been using it for a few weeks now. It appears to be very sensitive and accurate. It is nicely finished with mahogany wood. I had some questions to the Seller and received quick and helpful reply. Because I used other barometers before, I strongly recommend this one.
