It’s an almost perfect replacement for a Whitluck’s ebony pipe. A few months ago I chewed a hole in the stem of my Whitluck’s. I enquired about a replacement and the company sent me a brand new pipe no questions asked. Absolutely outstanding customer service! The old pipe has been in a drawer, and I decided to take it out and take some measurements. This is a nearly perfect replacement; side by side with the replacement pipe it’s nearly impossible to tell which has the replacement stem. The outside diameter of the new stem is very slightly larger than that of the shank, nothing that can’t be corrected with minimal effort and very fine sandpaper. One must remember that pipes are traditionally not made on an assembly line, they are hand crafted, and the parts are fitted together by the craftsman. Most often replacement parts need a bit of fitting to get them flush, these parts are not meant to be picked out of parts bin and slapped together. Do use rubber bits!

The plastic on the tenon (& really overall) is a little thin, but for a three-pack it'll do nicely. I've smoked out of these stems for about a month now and the glossy finish is still intact. That says nothing about next year, though. They did fit all of my 9mm Amazon pear wood pipes.

These pipe stems are exactly as described. I needed to replace the stems on a couple of Savinelli bents and these worked fine. The fit was very tight so I may try to sand off a very small amount. Otherwise, these were great and cheap replacements. I will order some more just to have on hand.

I received these so called pipe replacement stems today, What a disappointment! Poorly made plastic garbage. They are listed to fit most 9mm filtered pipes-I have 3 pipes that needed stems,all original 9 mm pipes,none of the stems fit any of them! Also the package did not arrive with any rubber pipe bits! So ,this was just a waste of money. I now have to get the pipes fitted for REAL pipe stems by a pipe repair company. These are not worth the hassle of returning.The only positive was they didn`t cost much. Don`t waste your money,like I did!
