Good for the money
Size runs big ie I'm an 8 in Nike and Skechers but in Bearpaw a 7 or 7.5 would be the right size. Even with 2 pairs (one reg cotton+one thick knitted) of socks and the plantar insole that I use they are big. If they had been high on the ankle, more boot-like, probably the heel wouldn't slip out and size difference would be less noticeable but it's not the case as the ankle opening of the shoe is quite open. They do not have arch support therefore foot slides to the point of the shoe. After one day usage these started to be more comfortable. Therefore, I suggest you double check your size range for rhis brand before purchase.Otherwise, the quality seems good and overall they are fine for the money.Having said this, I recommend them if a cushioned foot support is not a must on your choice.

Size down!
After reading the reviews I decided to size down and I’m glad I did. For reference, I am most often wear a size 8.5 shoe. Depending on the brand and type of shoe I do size up and wear a 9 BUT after reading the reviews I sized down to an 8 and they fit. I also have narrow feet so these are somewhat wide, but would be a good fit for someone with wider feet.

Run a little big
First off I love BearPaw brand so I was super excited to find these hiking shoes! Although they do run a little big you can tie them to fit comfortably around your ankle, I would say only go down a half of size unless you have wide feet or thicker ankles then go with your normal size. I just got them today and went on a little hike and they are very comfortable and cute! I definitely recommend, especially for the price.

One shoe bigger than the other
I ordered a size eight and the right shoe fits perfectly, true to size, super comfortable. The left one felt lose and I got a blister from walking around the neighborhood. When I compared the two shoes, I realized the left one is bigger than the right one. Both say size 8 inside and on the sole so I'm not sure what happened there. I put an insole in the left shoe and hopefully that will help avoid any future blisters.

Comfortable,durable, priced well.
These hiking/walking shoes are very comfortable. However, they have lots of room so take into consideration when ordering. I normally wear a size 8 (women) so I ordered an 8. I have to double up on my socks, doing so shoes fit perfectly. I think if I were to by a 7&1/2 they would maybe be too small.Great shoes, great price, a year in with much use they are durable.
