Works just like we expected
We were looking for a basket that had a long handle for taking the steamer out of the pot because most have only a ring that gets scalding hot and can't be reached even with a hot pad. This does it! Especially like the rubber feet on the bottom that keep the pot from being scratched. Wanted the extendable handle to have a rubber top so that you can use it without a hot pad, but we couldn't find one, but this one works fine by using a fork to lift it out of the pot.

Good, so far
I like this steamer basket overall. The removable and retractable center handle is a nice feature. This is much preferred to those cheap rings you find in the center of a lot of these steamer baskets. I was a bit concerned when I saw that rust had begun to develop in the center where the handle screws into the center of the steamer basket (see photo). Note, this is only the second time I have used this steamer basket, hence the concern. Both times, it did set in water for about an hour before cleaning, but then it was washed and placed in a dish drainer until it dried. Because of the appearance of rust so soon in its life, I wonder about the long-term durability of this basket. As for now, how long it will last remains to be seen, but it is a bit disconcerting, and as a potential buyer, I thought it was something of which you should be made aware. Otherwise, it works just fine.

Well made with some good design points
This is a new version of the semi-standard folding-flower sort of steamer basket. It is solid stainless and of a slightly heavier gauge metal than I have seen in the past. It sports two nice features. Where a classic steamer of this sort would have a wee metal pole sticking up from the middle that would be the same height as the basket and have a small ring at the top, this one has a telescoping pole with a flat handle at its top. Closed down it is the same height as the basket. Fully extended it puts the handle several inches above the basket which should provide a more comfortable handle with which to pull it from a steaming pot. Though the pole when collapsed is no taller than the basket, it may be unscrewed from the steamer and will fit nicely inside the folded basket Additionally, rather than three, scratchy metal feet that you would not want to put in a non-stick pot, this basket has three folding legs, each covered with bright green and soft silicone rubber. They should handle any heat produced while steaming and, given that silicone rubber is good to 600-700F, should survive a reasonably brief exposure to full heat if you inadvertently boil off all your water. That is just my opinion, not a claim the manufacturer has made (that I know of). So, I find no cons whatsoever and several pros with this steamer. I like it and I will buy it again.

Rust
Would have been a great steamer, but it began to rust in the center within 3 uses. I dont feel safe cooking with a rusty steamer

Great steamer
I use this for steaming veggies in the wok. It works great and holds a fair amount of food. Pretty solid construction and easy to clean. I like it and would buy again

Does the job
As shown in the picture it doesn't have that long rod to hold. And the legs are different. But it does the job
