A very informative book well worth the price

Excellent, very clear illustrations and descriptions. Well thought out and put together. Wish there was a kindle version for field trips.

This is an excellent book and a boon for the botanist who encounters obscure technical terminology every time he or she opens a botanical. It is much more extensive (1,300 terms) than most of the glossaries one finds in botanicals and, crucially, it is very well illustrated with clear line drawings. Every term that could be made more clear with a drawing has one. The physical book itself is beautifully bound and should survive decades of use. And I now know what 'pseudocopulation' is.

Good. Hickey and King is better, because the drawings are separate, in morphological order, ie you can look something up without knowing it's name. But it's very expensive (and only a paperback). If you just want to look words up, this book is fine.

I bought this because I was having trouble with other more detailed books on the subject. This is a simple and straightforward reference with lots of pictures illustrating what exactly is being described by the text. Couldn't be happier with it.

The books just uses the same illustrations to explain more than one plant part. Which makes you feel shortchanged for the kind of price you have invested in. .

Easy and quick referencing. After many years of gardening I finally have a book that provides knowledge that I lacked. I have a lot to learn!
