Hemway Mother of Pearl Iridescent Glitter Paint Additive 100g

Firstly, this product works as long as you follow the instructions. I get frustrated with reviews when people say "I added a pack of glitter and hardly have any sparkle" The instructions clearly state to use a minimum of 100g (1 packet) of glitter per 1 litre of paint. I had a 2.5 litre paint, so I added 3 packets of glitter. Yes, this makes the paint a little pricey, however the results are amazing and it's still loads cheaper and much nicer than glitter wall paper. (In my opinion) So, we had our paint and 3 packs of glitter, you MUST stir the glitter in a little at a time to avoid clumps, don't expect to tip it all in and not have clumps. This is much easier with 2 of you, my teenage daughter gradually put in a little glitter, when I had fully mixed it in, she added a little more and so on. The 3 packets took a total of 40 minutes to mix in. I used a paint mixer to ensure a through mix, but a whisk would be good too. We used a medium pile roller to roll on the paint, although 2 coats covered nicely I had quite a bit of paint left so I did 3, I'm glad I did because although 2 coats were adequate the 3rd coat finished it off lovely. This paint wasn't the easiest to cut in, but again on the 3rd coat it all blended perfectly. Now for the important bit, the more coats I added the less the wall sparkled. As I said at the beginning, read the instructions. We used hemway buffing pads and when completely dry buffed the entire wall, the pads lost there roughness about half way through, so I had to resort to using white scourer pads from the kitchen. They actually did the same job. The buffing really brings out the sparkle, the light catches it beautifully in the day and you'll see from my pictures the night light also catches it perfectly. When I mentioned to people I was attempting glitter paint, all of them said "it's a nightmare, it doesn't work, my painter and decorator won't touch glitter paint" well I'm no painter and decorator, I'm just a DIYer who takes their time, reads the instructions and most importantly follows them. If you do the same you will be so happy with the results. My teenage daughter is over the moon and so am I.

it's a good product, a nice quality shine, i used only 2 packets in 5 Litres of white emulsion and it's very effective, just right for a subtle noticeable effect, i think 1 packet would be enough for such effect really. i used both brush and roller, it was fairly equally distributed with each.

Easy to use, directions are on the back of the packet. It only gives a light shimmer. We use 1 packet as it was only going on 1 wall. My little girl loves it

I added this glitter paint additive to a bucket of paint for a special wall in my reception room. It certainly did the sparkle trick and depending on how the light is hitting the wall you see the sparkles. My guests often comment about how pretty and unique it looks...and I'm very pleased with the finish. Very easy to use...basically, just throw the packet in the pain, mix and then use the roller or brush to apply...that simple.

This is a very fine glitter, almost a glitter dust. I used the whole packet in a 5litre dark blue paint. It's... underwhelming. I've used a leading brand of glitters in the past several times and had a much more noticeable effect, on light paints and on black paint. Potentially a 'user error' of buying without thinking of needing to check the glitter size, and I'll look at it again in different lights, but at the moment I wouldn't use this one again. On the posittive- it's very sparkly while in the packet and on hands.

This item was excellent - bright sparkly walls -have bought another rwo pkts since using first lot.

Didn't work for me. I mixed it in as instructed, using a lot more of the sparkles just to make sure. I used the supplied buffing pads after every coat. I applied three coats. Result - I've seen more sparkles in a bag of coal. They were physically there if you looked closely, but they just didn't reflect.

Ich mische den Glitzer überall rein. Auch in meine Lackierpistole. Wandfarben mit Mettalic/Glitzereffekt sind sündhaft teuer. Je nach Lichteinfall neue Wand ;-)
