UK plugs fit perfectly well into the slots and it works without any hitches in South Africa and neighbouring countries, which sometimes use both the rectangular and round sockets.

This is a great for me as I often go back home to South Africa.Though its really handy to have, I find they only work with low powered chargers.I have taken a hair straighteners to SA for my sister and used one of these to try and power it as the plug on the straighteners have a UK plug and these plugs didn't work.Works well to charge my phones though.

Both of them sparked in the socket and stopped working after first use. Would not recommend

I recently travelled to Cape Town and had these for using my laptop. They worked perfectly well. No issues with power (though I didn't have to deal with load shedding so I didn't really stress test it that highly) - but they are functional and do work in SA.

I don't travel to South Africa until September (so will report back) but I've tested these adaptors with a SA to UK adaptor and they fit perfectly. They're compact so should fit into those awkward spaces below shelves and behind tables where hotels like to put their plug sockets. They're good value for a twin pack as I always find I need more than one adaptor for phone/Kindle/straighteners etc.
