リサ・マイコルズはアメリカのインディーギターポップの正統派ソングライターの一人でして、ブライアン・ウィルソンのサポートとして名を上げたワンダーミンツと深い親交があることでも有名です。実際、このアルバムチェリーレッド系のREV-ORAからのリリースとなっているのですが、同時期にワンダーミンツも同レーベルからアルバムを発表しており、その関係性の深さが窺い知れます。この２００４年のアルバムは、デビュー時に比較しても、かなり完成度が高く、ワンダーミンツばりの歯切れのいいパワーポップにコーラスの多用、凝ったコード進行など、ワンダーミンツがまるっきりバックを務めているような作品になっていると言えます。とはいえ曲は全て彼女自身によるもので、女性ソロアーティストで、このポップセンスを持ち得た人はなかなかいません。聴けば聴くほど、元気が出てくるそんなバンドサウンドなのですが、それなのに聴けば聴くほど味が出てくるというか、ポップといってもノイジーなギターなども使い、コーラスワークも重厚で、単純ではないんですね。大体、REV-ORAというレーベルは再発専門みたいなイメージだったのですが、この時期にはレーベル自身が新作の中で厳選して良いと思ったものは新作でもリリースしていたのでしょうね。これは、そんな貴重な時代の１枚です。
