Waste of Space (Moon Base Alpha)

If I could give a lower score than 1 star, I would. These books were wonderfully written, but then in the last book the author thought it was somehow appropriate to throw in homosexuality!? In a KIDS book?? REALLY ?!?! Oh heck no! I HATE that I had to suddenly censure m my reading of this book to my 10 year old. Yes, he knows about homosexuality since it’s thrown in our kids faces daily, and we live in the “real world,” but how is this appropriate for a child’s book???!!! I will NEVER recommend these books, or this author, to ANYONE.

I felt sad reading this with my daughter. It's overall a decent story and reasonably well-written. I thought it was nice to have a book with a girl who is solving mysteries and having adventures rather than obsessing about her feelings.However... despite the book's setting in a base on the moon, the author manages to insert several passages about global warming (stated as fact, of course) and a gay relationship.If you think gay couples and global warming are appropriate for your kids, you'll love this one. Otherwise, find something more wholesome.

Over the last year - we've been reading this series (as well as his Fun Jungle and Spy School series) together with our kids (eight year old boy/girl twins) and the only problem is that we have a hard time getting them to bed because they keep yelling at us to read "one more chapter". This is a great end to the series with all of the suspense, humor, well thought out plot and great characters that you find in all of his books. I highly recommend his series and can assure you it's one the parents will enjoy reading with their kids as well.

What an amazing series, sad that it couldn’t last longer.The story is intertwined with many things for many people to be interested in, and everything written was filled with not only emotionally but also with thought. I was hoping the cause of the end of the series would have something to do with the plot of the murderer and that the moon base alpha series would continue.

My daughter is obsessed with these Stuart Gibbs books. She plowed through this one in four hours and couldn't be more happy. If history is a clue, she shall read this three more times by the weekend.

My kids love the Moon Base Alpha books. They enjoyed this latest in the series. Gibbs mix of humor, suspense and action will satisfy even the most picky reader. It also has some nice relationship development as well to add depth to the story. We suggest the entire series.

All of Stuart Gibbs books are fantastic! They are clever, have great vocabulary for my children (even me sometimes) and my 10 year old boy/ girl twins LOVE all his books and audio books!!!! We have already pre-ordered his new books coming out later in the year.

This was an amazing book! With amazing plot twists and great descriptions, deep emotions and humor, and the most beautiful, heartwarming moments, I strongly recommend this to everyone except maybe conservationists because this book does stress that most endangered species are now extinct. Otherwise, AMAZING read!
