Well made, easy to assemble with provided tools
We purchased this bike for our 5yo daughter for Christmas. The 16in size is perfect for her, she's a very average sized child, and the bike adjusts to fit her well. The box came slightly damaged from the metal "collar" where you insert the handlebars into the bike breaking through the box. There were minor scrapes to this piece, but they were covered when I installed the handlebars. I'm a pretty handy guy, and built this in about 45min with the supplied tool used to tighten everything up. The directions are very clear, and I was impressed on how the bike came about 90% assembled. You have the option of attaching the training wheels or not and there is no added work really to add or omit their install. The only con I have for it is the front brakes came almost unusable. The brake handle could be completely pulled without the pads engaging the rim. I did have to do a minor brake adjustment to get them snug and operating properly. Other than that, its a great bike that will inevitably be crashed and dropped. Its sturdy, well made, cool color (according to the 5yo). This is our second Royalbaby bike, and I have a feeling we'll be purchasing more.

5 year old took off
Buy this bike! I can’t believe I didn’t know this existed earlier. I have 3 kiddos. All have started with a popular balance bike. #1 transitioned easily to a pedal bike, #2 just couldn’t get it, so I bought this for #3. He had a royal baby pedal bike with training wheels but dad accidentally broke it. He also had the tiny balance bike. We had been struggling to teach him and his sister to get the bike riding concept. I took this out of the box and I kid you not 10 minutes later he was pedaling the bike. His sister asked for a turn (8). She tried it with no pedals then we added them for her. After years and years of trying SHE was able to ride and pedal within 20 minutes. I really believe it’s the proportions of this bike. I almost bought one for her but then she got on her own bike and started pedaling! It’s been over a month now and you’d never know how much “pain and trouble” we had gone through to get #2 riding. Definitely a great 2nd bike if you started with a true balance bike or first if your kiddo is older. I believe they have smaller sizes but I can’t speak for those. We also got the one with one break and foot break. Only because it was cheaper on my part. We definitely didn’t need the upgrade as he uses both and doesn’t mess him up riding.

Less than 24 hrs
Amazing bike! My 5 year old had been using a Walmart bike last year. I tried to teach him to ride without training wheels but he could never get the balance. The year prior he had been using a balance bike. But it’s been over a year since he’s used it. I saw the reviews for this bike and decided to give it a try. After putting him on the bike I noticed he immediately had his balance. Less than 1 hour later I put on the peddles. He protested at first and struggled with peddling but within another hour was zooming around. This bike is well made and proportioned. The slightly wider tires make a difference I think too. If your young one is struggling with his current bike, try this one. The handle bar construction is a little strange and can shift if they wreck (just straighten and continue), but other than that It’s amazing.

Easy transition
My son has had a balance bike since he was probably 2. He’s definitely out grown it and I didn’t want to purchase a bike with training wheels. This bike is great, fits him perfectly for being a large 4 year old at the time of purchase allowing him to practice riding without pedals or relying on training wheels. The day we got it, we went around the block with it as a balance bike then when we got home he wanted to put the pedals on. He immediately took off like he had been riding with 2 wheels and pedals for years. HIGHLY recommend balance bikes. Skip the training wheels. Love that this is made for bigger kids as they grow. Everyone always stops us and says he’s got a really cool bike with the “turbo” water bottle and neat bell. The pedals are super easy to pop on and off.

Please watch out for the button battery which are dangerous to children
Overall this is a great bike and I love that the bike goes from a glider to a pedal bike in seconds with no tools required. I have one major safety concern with this product that all parents need to watch out for. This product has an imitation bike bell that has a button or coin battery. The cover is very easily removed, in fact it frequently falls off on it's own. Please read about Reese's law and talk to your children about the dangers of putting these batteries in their mouths. This battery should not be easily accessible to children due to the fact that it can be fatal if swallowed.

Best bike for learning in less than a day
My son wasn’t confident riding a bike couldn’t get the hang of it. I felt like I was failing because my 7 year old wasn’t riding a bike yet. Frustrated that he was going backwards with bike riding, I found this bike and read a ton of reviews so I gave it a shot. The videos are true! He was riding by the end of the day on his own and within 3 days he was a racing down a steep hill yelling “Coming in Hot!” I can’t say enough great things about Royal. The removal of petals and just gliding gave him enough confidence that he wanted the petals snapped on by the end of the day. I highly recommend it

Self-taught bike rider
We bought this bike for my 6-year-old son for Christmas. It was quick and easy to assemble. He has had a different brand bike for a year and wasn't very interested in learning to ride without the training wheels. Since the pedals come off of this bike so that he could push himself along on the bike and pick up his feet to learn to balance, he was able to master riding it within less than 10 minutes. We're very pleased with the purchase and wish we would have found this one years ago.
