Transfusion Science, second edition (BMS)

Good book if you are studying transfusion sciences
This was the recommended reading when I was at university studying Biomedical Sciences. I now work for NHS Blood and Transplant as a Biomedical Scientist and still on occasion refer to this book for basic information. It was a must have at university, but only as a recommended text or as addition if your recommend text is lacking in a specific area.

Informative
I gave this book 5/5 stars because it is covers a wide range of topics associated with transfusions and it explains how blood grouping works and how to carry out agglutination tests in order to identify and provide the complimentary/correct blood group and rhesus. I would certainly recommend this book to fellow Biomedical Science students.

Good for Transfusion Science for Biomedical Scientists
A comprehensive guide to transfusion science, with all the essential information on all clinically significant antibodies.Well written and easy to read, with summary boxes and revision questions, great for the trainee or qualified staff for revision or CPD.

Disappointed
The contexts of this book is very informative and exactly what I need for my Haematology & Transfusion module of my BMS degree. However I am very disappointed as to why in most of the pictures and graphs with a certain font are all the words merged together, making it unreadable. I would like to know whether this is the same for all of the books, otherwise Im taking it back.

highly recommended for technical understanding
very useful for non blood bank people who need to understand groups not commonly found in standard textsup to date and easy to dip into later if something new requires a better understanding
