Good baskets, easy installation
Ordered these baskets on Monday, they arrived on Thursday. Haven't used them to haul anything yet, but they look like sturdy baskets. They fit great on my single speed bicycle, 24" wheels ( not a full size bike).Installation was really easy, you just have to think alittle bit. There are no directions that come with baskets, but it's pretty simple on a single speed bicycle. I would give this 5 stars, fast 3 day delivery, excellent fit on bike, easy installation.

Great basket! Good size and installs easily.
This basket is great! Attached quickly and easily to my wife's bike and was exactly the size that was specified (unlike some others have stated). Remember that the dimensions given are the "top dimensions" of the baskets, which obviously taper slightly toward the bottom. I particularly like the fact that the area between the baskets functions as a top rack for very large objects.A few tips for installation: The bracket that attaches beneath the seat can be attached in either direction (front/back) to accommodate different bikes. On my wife's bike, I elected to place the basket connection in the forward position for a level fit on the bike. Also, don't overlook the fact that most bikes have multiple accessory holes near the rear axle. If needed, it is easy to grab a couple of extra small bolts at the hardware store to make the fit exactly what you want. Finally, as others have said, if you're installing it on a bike with fenders, it is helpful to place a towel over the rear fender to prevent scuffing it while installing the basket.I feel like all of the negative reviews are simply due to poor assumption and/or laziness. Obviously, all bikes are slightly different, and nothing meant to go on a bike can be truly universal, but this basket is very nice and well-sized for most bikes. If you have ever done any basic maintenance on just about anything, you should should be able to install this thing with the smallest bit of common sense. If you are expecting it to jump out of the box and install itself, though, then it's probably not for you. If that's you, then take it to the shop and let the magical bike elves take care of it.

Hopefully some clarification
This basket is certainly high quality. It's steel, so it's rigid but with some effort can be bent just a little to fit the bikes size. Once it's screwed together it's solid and doesn't flop around.I preferred this to racks and panniers because 1) I had dry bags and it would be cheaper 2) I was tired of combatting potential mold from touring in all weather conditions. 3) Takes time and energy to be digging around dark bags with flaps falling and zippers breaking. So I'm trying this on my ride around the USA and I think it will do great!Hopefully the pictures show a little better of how they look in real life. Based on volume to liter conversions, each side is about 12.5 liters, I think. You'll have to supply the two bolts that hook to those arms near the axle. They do move around to account for how wide the tire is and how far back the mounting hole will be for your particular bike. From looking at it, I'd guess you could hook these onto the axle, instead.Having disk brakes, I needed to use a longer m5 bolt and a spacer on that side. I used a regular sized m5 bolt with a couple of spacers on the other side so it wouldn't screw all the way through and get in the way of the chain. Added here a few pictures of what it takes to shorten a bolt and spacer to size. They ended up being a 40mm bolt and 37mm spacer.Hope this helps!

Great rack and basket, once installed
I agree with the other reviewers here: this is great rack/basket combination. Very sturdy and good looking (although I was surprised it came bare in the Amazon box without any Wald packaging or instructions). The hardest part was getting it installed on my wife's comfort cruiser. Her bike has a non-standard frame so where a normal bike would have the two rear seat stay tubes come up and connect underneath the seat, hers has a big shock absorber spring instead. So I had to futz around a lot trying to get the main bracket to connect securely without interfering with her rear brake assembly. It took some doing (I finally had to have a second person help to hold the basket in place while I tightened the bolts) and I scratched some of the paint, but now that it's installed it looks great and works great too. If you have a standard frame bike, installation should be pretty easy.Update: I ended up having to remove the basket from my wife's bike because it just mounted too low to due the design of her frame and was causing the brakes to rub. I moved it to my bike (standard mountain bike frame) and installation was a lot easier. This basket/rack combo is HEAVY though. Also, since the baskets aren't collapsible it makes the rear of my bike wider which causes difficulties when putting my bikes on my car rack. Still, though, this is a high quality product.

Make sure you have the proper tools
The baskets arrived quick and well packed. I have'nt intalled them yet because the bike is dis assembled for an overhaul. But it looks like they should install easy enough.
