Music to my ears ......
This is a great product, however it does need a little bit of patience to set it up. So stick with it, because its worth it. Firstly the delivery was outstanding from the 3rd party seller. The item arrived very well packaged and within two days of order. In total I have ordered three so far on separate occasions and all have arrived in the same manner. Now to the product ....... Setup, firstly you need to register the device on the network. Before you start I would suggest you download the app, you will need it. Setup from your phone/tablet and follow the instructions with the device, however turn off data and Bluetooth first as it will work better. Once you have connected it to your network, it will flash various colours and away you go ....... HOWEVER ! Be warned, the instructions do NOT say anything about the following important information! If it flashes red/green/amber continuously it means it is updating the firmware automatically, YOU MUST NOT PRESS ANYTHING UNTIL THIS STOPS. If you do, then you will have loads of extra work to do to get it to work. All of mine have done this, so I assume the update is necessary. However on my first one I spent an hour trying to figure out how to fix it, here is the the simple way 1/ Go to the Pure website look for downloads relevant to the Jongo and download the latest update. 2/ Format a USB stick and drop the file on to it (the stick must not have anything else on it). 3/ Plug it in to you Jongo and let it run. This will take up to 10 minutes and will flash all the colours, it is finished when you have a steady pulse on amber or green. Once you have got over this little (ill informed) task, you are good to go. The device comes with audio leads and plugs straight in to your stereo. Play music two ways, straight from the app for internet radio etc. Or via Bluetooth from you Google Play music collection. If you have more than one Jongo then they all talk to each other via WiFi so when you send music to one it will broadcast to all of them if you want. At the moment the app does not support Google Play from within the app. So for this you connect to one of the Jongos on the network and broadcast to it via Bluetooth, the Jongos then broadcast that signal again to all the other Jongos. All of them work flawlessly and in sync from room to room. This is a fantastic cheap alternative to Sonos and in my opinion better as I am able to use the quality stereo equipment I already have. So far creating THREE WiFi music zones for less than £100, which would cost almost £600 with Sonos!

Pretty good!
I googled bluetooth adapters for ages to find one to connect to my Denon traditional hifi (Denon DM39DAB). I'd wanted to get an airplay receiver at first, but my wife is Android and I'm iOS. She didn't want me to root her tablet to be able to use Airplay, so this seemed a decent compromise. It can receive music via Wifi through the Pure Connect App or via Bluetooth for all other apps on both iOS and Android. Only paid £22 for it. Seemed worthwhile getting something from a reputable brand at a knockdown price, rather than some unknown Chinese manufacturer. Setup was a bit of a pain in the ass. The different coloured flashes on the power button are totally impenetrable for a new user. How was I to know that alternate flashes of Green, Amber then Red meant that it was doing an auto-firmware update? This resulted me in accidentally corrupting the install and I had to google about to find a way to restore the firmware with a USB thumbstick. Once it was connected to my router properly though, and I'd done the setup via Pure Connect app, it worked pretty well. Transmission range is good and quality is nice via WiFi. Bluetooth is easy to use but, as with almost every bluetooth adapter it seems, volume is much lower on my amp than all other input sources, so you have to notch the volume up a bit when using via bluetooth. Not a huge amount, but it's a pain since all other inputs (including the jongo via wifi) operate at roughly the same volume. I don't know how long Pure Connect will continue to operate as a service as I cant believe it'll effectively compete with Spotify. But even if it shuts down it'll still work fine as a bluetooth adapter. I've considered subscribing though. It's a cheaper service than spotify, but the interface of the iOS app is horrible and there's no dedicated windows application; just a web service that seems really slow to use. Happy enough with this!

Excellent.
I added this to my existing hi-fi in my living room. I already have the Pure One Flow radio in the kitchen and have been using the Pure Connect app for sometime now, including subscribing to their Blue Music subscription package for unlimited streaming of music from their version of Spotify (£4.99 per month - no ads). Set up was extremely easy. Out of the box, connected to the hi-fi using the supplied RCA phono to phono cable and it was good to go. Booting up my mac, I logged on to it by selecting it's wifi network which then opened a browser window and allowed me to connect it to my existing router and broadband connection. Once this was done - it was simplicity itself to use. It of course works seamlessly as a multi room player in the Pure Connect app, switching between either the Pure One Flow in the kitchen, or the A2 in the living room was simple and easy to do. Yes, the app isn't the most intuitive app I've ever used, but once you understand it's layout, it's well featured and stable. I'm so impressed, I will be adding another Jongo speaker soon. My only slightly moan about this system is that you cannot stream different tracks to different rooms / speakers. You can only link one or more speakers together for one track. Of course, this is where Sonos scores over the Jongo system, but then again, Sonos is considerably more expensive. If you're not wanting to subscribe to access the Pure Music system, then the free on demand podcasts and catch up radio, not to mention the internet radio aspect is superb. Additionally, any music stored on your iOS or Android device is easily streamed to the network players. It will not stream from a NAS storage system - again, another slight downside against the Sonos system, but then again, Pure do not make this claim. You are ring fenced into Pure's ecosystem by using their app, but that is not surprising. Another bonus is the built in bluetooth capability. Being able to wirelessly send bluetooth audio to my living room stereo is a bonus. Of course, it's expensive if that's all you plan on doing with the device, but look at it as an added bonus to the wifi networking capability and multi-room audio ecosystem of the Jongo network and you're quids in basically. Additionally, you can send audio via airplay from the app (forgetting the Jongo speakers - so the app will allow streaming to airplay compatible devices - but I must be clear, the speakers ARE NOT airplay compatible). Well made, as you'd expect, supplied with basic RCA cables and a power supply - you really can't ask too much more of a £99.00 device.

Unreiable, poor performance
I really wanted to give this a chance but the fact is it’s terrible. Yes the sound quality is good and the range is even decent, but, none of that is any good if it constantly lags 30 seconds to one minute behind what you tell it to do and you have to constabtly un plug and reset it as it thinks its playing music but gives no output to the amp. If you turn it off and on you can connect fine (normally) but when playing music through itunes or youtube or any source on your mobile device / tablet, if you pause the audio, then go to resume the jongo fails to give any output to the amp. Disconnecting and reconnecting bluetooth has no effect, even trying to connect another device (although pairing succeeds and the device believes the jongo is playing music) there’s zero output from the jongo, even the jongo thinks its doing a good job as the light is solid green!!! The only way I’ve found to resolve this is to turn it off and on again or unplug it totally and plug it back in. You’ll also find it may play music perfectly for about 30 mins, then again just randomly stops, and no manner of faffing around will get it to work again other than turning it on and off. It’s not a range issue or devide issue as it’s done it with three seperate phones (android and ios) and two iPads. Another very frustrating thing is when it does work, often you will play a somg and there is no audio output, then about 30 seconds later it blasts out. Turning up or down the volume on the device lags and you can skip a somg and still listen to the song you skipped for another 30 seconds. I wish I hadn’t of bought it and had spent more as it’s one of the poorest functioning, least reliable electronic audio devices I have ever purchased. It’s junk to be honest, DO NOT BUY. **UPDATE** As of today the jongo refuses to connect to any device, I’ve tried three seperate iphones, an android phone and two ipads and all fail. I’ve also done a ‘factory reset’ and its still useless. Had guests around this evening and spent two hours trying to get connected or play music with zero success. I finally found the best solution for the Jongo A2, image attached...

Superb value - great product - quirky setup !
So good I bought two.... ( and will probably get more ). I just wanted something that I could plug into a HiFi and stream bluetooth to it from various phones etc. I like the fact that this was (a) £19.95, and (b) it has proper RCA audio connectors. I have one in the Kitchen attached to a Mini-T amp and a pair of decent bookshelf speakers. This has got the be the cheapest and smallest way of getting (almost) HiFi quality in the kitchen, with the added benefit that anyone who walks into the kitchen can just pair to it with Bluetooth and play whatever they want.... I also have one in my office attached to a proper mega-bucks HiFi system and it sounds great ! - I can just stream Spotify or whatever to it.... It DOES have some more advanced features ( like you can stream to all Jongo's simultaneously through your WiFi network ) but I don't use this. As others have mentioned, the initial setup is a bit of a challenge - but I'm not sure you'd even need to do this if you're only using basic Bluetooth streaming... I did it because I wanted to change the default name that the device displays , I even managed to do a software update !! Persevere though as it's worth it. The first one took me 30 mins of head scratching... the second one only 5 mins... The key thing that worked for me was not to set it up through the PureConnect app - instead, after pressing the WiFi button on the Jongo - it will present itself as a wireless network. Connect to this new wireless network ( Jongo A2 xxxxx ) on your phone, then fire up a web browser on your phone and go to 'myjongo'. This is where you can rename the device and enter the password for your real WiFi network.... This works great. After this - When I fired up the Pure Connect App - it told me on one device that it needed a software update ( must have been old stock ! ) - and this when through fine. The other one did notneed any update. So in summary the setup is a bit quirky, but for me everything is working exactly as I want, and it's impossible to beat at this price !!

Superb item let down by appalling app
This is a much better product than many reviews here suggest. It is actually easy to set up if you are patient and just leave it to download a firmware upgrade (to be fair it does feel as if it is going wrong at this point: it isn't). The sound quality is excellent, particularly through wi-fi which is very slightly but audibly better than bluetooth (which is pretty good in itself). So why only three stars? The answer is quite simple: the Android app you need to use the Jongo is a disgrace (I haven't tried the iphone app). Firstly it only allows you to stream via wi-fi from its own subscription service or your own library of mp3s. If you subscribe to Spotify, Tidal or Amazon Prime etc you can only stream via Bluetooth and that is of slightly lesser quality. The way the app handles mp3s is no better. The app uses the "album artist" tag to sort rather than the more obvious "artist". This means that half of your albums end up listed under "unknown artist". Another irritation is that the cover artwork isn't shown for about one in 10 albums: it's there and attached to the mp3s but simply doesn't display in the Jongo app. These are irritating but the real problem is that the app doesn't do gapless playback. This mean that continuous pieces of music such as Dark Side of the Moon or Classical pieces have jarring gaps in the music. It is fine if you have none of these in your collection but I do. It is no surprise to me that the cost has dropped to £20. At that price point it competes very favourably with bluetooth streamers and if you want a simple bluetooth streamer you can't go wrong with this. If you want higher audio quality and think that this is an affordable alternative to Sonos, think again.

MY BEST EVER HI FI BARGAIN
I am not quite sure how to word this review. I think I`ll commence by saying THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST EVER HI FI BARGAIN I HAVE EVER PURCHASED IN OVER 40 YEARS AS A HI FI ENTHUSIAST. My level of computer literacy is not great but I have been endeavouring to catch up. I`ve been a member of the spotify premium service for a few years now, using my laptop computers as sources, initial results were dire using my Toshiba laptop resident dac. I purchased separate outbord dacs namely an Epiphany at £100 and a Monitor 02 US dragon for a similar amount both produced massive improvements. I had been attempting to come to terms with the notion of streaming, and was there a more convenient way of playing my music from my stereo "hot seat". A l,earned colleague of mine mentioned the terms "Bluetooth" and "Streaming devices." I retaliated by stating SONOS, he countered by stating that [ in his opinion ] SONOS is grossly overpriced and that it [SONOS] did not offer bluetooth and for that matter was not even boasting true "hi res" compatibility. Enter the PURE JONGO A2, this device is compatible with both wi fi and bluetooth and sports a high quality 24/192 dac, and was on sale for a mere £20. Hence the PURE trade name and modest price tag tilted me into making a purchase. Although ordered late afternoon the product was delivered the following morning. I must admit that I could not commence operation of this product independently, this required a phonecall to my colleague but after speaking to him for about 10 minutes the PURE was providing a level of hi-fidelity in my living room that I had never before experienced. Now to the listening, a much keener edge to the sound with far greater presence emotive effects were hilighted. Bass and most noticeably EXTREME bass had far better definition and control, the Epiphany dac sounding far too soft and polite by comparison. Control was via my Lenovo tablet, and I was soon able to switch sources between Spotify Tunein radio and USB stick or the tablet`s own hard drive. Seeing I have three hi fi systems I elected to purchase two more JONGOs. In my bedroom system which incorporates the Monitor 02 dragon DAC, an improvement in sound quality was observed, but to a lesser extent than in my living room. [ I suspect the monitor 02 to be the better of my DACs.] My final system is sourced by a marantz na6005. This device is Bluetooth compatible, and possesses a built in hi res DAC. Interestingly comparison using Spotify in wi-fi mode I considered inferior to either the na 6005 or the JONGO in Bluetooth mode, a view confirmed via research on the internet. People come from differing directions in their use of a product. I wanted the Jongo to be a top quality sound source for a wide range of musicl inputs from my tablet, which indeed it is. My colleague and others [from reading their reviews] want sound throughout the house, and are not overly concerned with the quest for high quality sound, they to should be satisfied with this product. I was somewhat disappointed to see many lukewarm reviews for this product, I suspect that this is due to peoples inability to get their JONGOs up and running..I freely admit I needed assistance to get my JONGO going, but it was well worth the initial irritation! Other comparable products are very much more expensive. Perhaps I should conclude this review by listing my hi fi equipment, as I have made some bold claims for the excellent level of the JONGOs fidelity. One final thing, before I list my equipment is to state that the JONGO has encouraged me to seek out hi res files. e.g.24/96 or 24/192. Courtesy of jRiver I obtained 12 full length music tracks [total time about 90 minutes] the results of which I can only descrbe as magnificent. OK now for my systems. SYSTEM 1[LOUNGE] ROTEL RA 1062 amplifier, Q acoustics 3050 loudspeakers Virgin box,Toshiba computer, Epiphany DAC and a Yamaha cd n500. SYSTEM 2[BEDROOM] MARANTZ PM 15 S1 amplifier, Mordaunt Short Aviano 6 loudspeakers Humax[free sat] box, Toshiba computer Monitor 02 US Dragon DAC. SYSTEM3 Dining room/conservatory. GRUNDIG v5000 amplifier Mistral Bow loudspeakers, Marantz na 6005, Arcam cd72 cd player. All my systems possess a JONGO, all have high quality inter connecting leads with regard to both signal connecting leads and speaker cables. All relevant connections are kept as short as possible. Signal interconnects are typically 0.5 metre. Loudspeaker cables typically 1.5metres. I have my amplifiers positioned midway between my speakers, and have previously "cut" expensive signal leads into two and purchased additional terminals to assist in tidiness and improved levels of fidelity! P.S. A perk for the JONGO, if mains power is lost my JONGOs "fire up" rapidly, as does my Yamaha cd n500. The Marantz na6005 requires a restart!!! If you have purchased a JONGO and are struggling to get it working, persevere it is worth it. If you desire to use it as I do as a top notch sound source, this is an excellent choice just provide some high quality source music. Spotify is very good, try BBC radio3 onthe tunein app at 320 aac and other high speed transmissions. Best of all give yourself a treat and play some hi res files, results are astonishing!

Good, but has limitations
There is a lot of reviews on here saying it's mince and doesn't work, and to be honest I fully understand their frustration, I was almost at the point of consigning this to the junk pile. But depending on what you want to use this for it's actually quite a good wee device once you get it going. Connecting: This was a pain in the a*#e! It took about ten attempts to get it recognized on my network. Not sure if this was the router or the Jongo though! Pure Connect: This app is worse than useless and no longer accepts new registrations. It keeps dropping network connection, I was able to play one song from my pc, once and only once so my advice would be once you have it on your network forget this even exists! Bluetooth: No issues here, I've been connecting using a usb bluetooth dongle on my pc. And this works perfectly fine no drop outs thus far. WiFi: This was the reason I bought this device, I wanted to be able to stream from my pc to my HiFi without using my phone or any other middleman device to control it. It does do it, but don't expect to find any literature telling you how to do it. First make sure media sharing is enabled on the device you want to stream from. Then make sure your Jongo is showing as a multimedia device in devices and printers, sorry should add this is from a windows 10 pc. This is where the Jongo becomes a bit picky. You have, as far as I can figure, 2 options. 1. open windows media player and create a play list, you can then "cast to device" , your Jongo should appear in a drop down menu. This will open a seperate player type window showing your playlist. You do however need to be careful as it will play mp3's and wma's but not flac or ogg. And it seems to be picky with wma and mp3, have had occasions where it comes up with an error adding them to the play list only to freeze the player, but I removed them, re-added them and they played fine. I don't think this is the Jongo though, plenty of people with issues with the "cast to" feature not functioning properly and microsoft not offering much in the way of resolution. 2. You locate the actual music files on you drive, right click and "cast to". This opens the same wee player as media player. If you want to add files to the playlist you can simply drag and drop into the "cast to" player window. At first I had issues with the "cast to" only playing one song at a time and not automatically moving onto the next song but after a while this seemed to fix itself. I was hoping to be able to stream all my files using wifi, but this is unfortunately not possible. If you have hi-res files you need to use bluetooth which negates the whole point. That being said I have this plugged into and old but good Sony amp and the sound quality still good enough for me. Build: No issues and for £20 it's a decent looking wee device, more than acceptable. Conclusion: Am perfectly happy with this, it suits my needs well after a bit of frustrating playing around.

English summary : disappointed. Wifi connection not available for computers (PC/Mac OS), smartphones only. Have to use Pure Connect app which is a pain. Wifi connection not automatically established; doesn't always work, slow to connect. Bluetooth features average or below average compared to cheaper Bluetooth only product (Belkin or the like).
